Well, let's see. No new posts on the translation board in about 2 weeks. Can't really do anything without new material to work with, can we?

Hi, I'm newly registered here, I recently got the ps2 HDD stuff going on, and on a 9GB HD I managed to get ToD Remake and ToD 2, I got 2 first so I got about 20 hours in that using a story guide and a walk through, they were both really bad, so It was hard to keep up with the enemies in that game without leveling up a lot. Since I don't know Japanese it was hard to understand the skill system although I managed to get the extensions down pat. Anyway, I played ToD multiple times so going through the remake won't be too hard, so I decided to lay off playing 2 until hopefully this translation is done. Although I don't know Japanese, if I can be of any help Cless, let me know. (My Email, which I also use for msn is scottfowler22@gmail.com)

(Oh, although it's not the right topic, anyone who's played the ToD remake want to help me with the the new swordian/equipment system? That'd be really cool.)

Majinken to all.

Of course it is.  Roll Eyes

EDIT: And I just spent six hundred god damn dollars (insert PS3 joke here) to upgrade my PC rig to dual-core to run this game better in emulators so that I may have a better chance of fixing the font size problems and other issues with debugging tools...

Don't count on that working too well. I have a pretty good rig and it still runs pretty poorly. Controls are too unresponsive and the emulator WILL crash.

I wrote a program which will make it much easier to port the work to the re-release editions of the game (I've been working exclusively with the original)

When a release is ready, patches for both versions should be released simultaneously.

Nice! I was worried about having to wait longer for the patch. *has "The Best" edition*

I got in the parts the other day and after spending a ton of time recovering my data drive (it was "unreadable" said Windows... thank the gods for GetDataBack, I didn't lose a thing), I got a chance to play around with it.

It's actually playing quite well for me. 2D maps and battles run at 60fps with no slowdown. World map 45FPS and menus 15FPS (what the hell). I've got an E6320 and haven't tried OCing it yet. My video card is a Radeon X1950 GT but I don't know how much weight that has in this.

Ya know, on my E6600 and GeForce 8800GTX the controls are completely unresponsive. Wonder if I've got it configured wrong...?

Beefier than what I've got, that's for sure. My CPU setup:

I've enabled nothing special as far as GPU settings.

Things were pretty horrible with my system before I turned off frameskipping.

The big issue now is that the emulator won't read from the disc after you loading a savestate, which SERIOUSLY SUCKS. The game just hangs when you hit a load point. It'd save a TON of time hacking savestates than burning a DVD or even just generating a new ISO when doing simple tests. I sure as hell hope this isn't an issue with version 0.9.4 whenever it's released...

It doesn't help that I hit a glitch when exploring the laguna ruins where the victory theme kept playing after a battle and the game crashed when I tried to enter a new area follwing that.

I really just need a damn save with the monster zukan/book/list, and I can't get the ridiculous method in the guide to convert a gamefaqs save to PCSX2 memory card format to work (you really wonder why nobody has bothered to make a memory card utility with pcsx2 card support by now. Bah). I really want a PS2 RAM dump of when that menu is open...

Hey cless, You think that if I added a menu in the options that connects and opens the grade shop anywhere that the ISO would patch again properlly? I wouild love to be able to get the gradeshop bonuses whenever i want.
