I just want to know if that's already the final font that they'll/you'll be using for this project. It's not exactly unreadable, but it looks so.. errr... Unprofessional. That's probably not the perfect word, but I guess it's close enough to express what I'm trying to say.

Compared to the font in ToDR (I saw them in screenshots), ToD2's is definitely bad. Because of ToDR's font, it almost look like an official localization. But with ToD2's case, it does look like a fanlocalization, mainly because of the font. And I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't use a font like that if they ever localize it. Point: Will you/they use the current font for the final product?

Btw, "current", the one which is used for the released patches. Thanks. Forgive me if I'm violating a rule here. This is my first post. If you think that my topic/post is violating a rule, please warn me and/or if necessary, lock/delete my topic.

I completely agree. It looks really off to me... It's too thick and wide--just generally unattractive.

Not really a prob w/ it looking bad really, it's just too wide in general (can't see some of the effects/enchant completely for my equip).

Wasn't too big a deal, but it'd be nice if @ least some (if not all the font, also I wouldn't mind if the style's diff) of the font were to be re-sized just to see the effects/enchant better.

As long as it's not cut out, perfect centering/font isn't really necessary I think (as long as it fits onscreen to where I could read it all  Roll Eyes )

ToD2 didn't have VWF (variable wide font) yet, only fixed wide font (think Monospace, Courier etc.) so without some PS2 assembly programming it isn't going to look much better.

I'm not tech savy enough to say if it's possible or not, but I think Cless had the ToS font for it working (to an extent, only screenshots shown  haha) so it might be possible to change the font entirely w/ maybe  a smaller default size (in terms of width) .

Pretty much. There's also the fact that each character is stored anti-aliased in a pathetically low-resolution 12x16 pixels. It does not scale nicely at all, which is why it looks terribly soft. In many menus, the font size is pretty small and I recall it being an eyesore to read even on a 27 inch SDTV connected via s-video. I opted for something bold and wide in an attempt to make it as readable as possible on that kind of setup. Tiny font sizes are a peeve of mine.

Though this thread pushed me to put together a font that looks a little less plain, it doesn't look quite as suited for fixed-widthness...

EDIT: I just fixed this damn thing so there's little reason not to make it an option anymore...

Now to put ToD2 back to sleep...

Oh, hey Cless. Arigato. XD I thought you would ignore my thread.

In any case, whether you'll change the font or not is entirely up to you.
I'm not forcing you; just my suggestion. Smiley And I must say, I do like the ToS font. Cheesy

Tear, if you would?
Tear: I'm on it! ...Tue rei ze croa riou tue ze...
