EDIT: This is no longer an issue.

I sent someone an alpha test patch (who uses a PAL SCPH-30004 unit and a PAL debug TEST unit). (this is a closed test patch, so don't ask for it)

Apprently the patched game crashes his system while selecting a certain option in the customize menu.

This crash does not occur on my US SCPH-50001 unit.

His original Japanese disc does not do this.

We have gone through several steps to make sure there wasn't a problem with his burned disc.

I don't know why this is happening. There have been no significant changes to the game code, so incompatibility because of a different hardware version seems a little strange. I've done some investigation but I've found nothing so far that looks like it would be problematic.

The tester has not experienced any other problems.

Hopefully a solution is found, and if one isn't, hopefully this won't be a widespread problem.  But it's incredibly frustrating...

Sweet. Hope you fix it soon.

As its legality is questionable I won't provide it directly Google for "scph1001.bin" or "scph7502.bin".

Oh shit.
I've also got a PAL SCPH-30004 (v5 motherboard) with Messiah 1.0 modchip and HDLoader 0.8b.
Hopefully this problem can be solved before the final menu patch is released.

Well, it crashed a US system.... same version as mine, even.

The good news: I did in fact locate a couple things that could be problematic and fixed them.

The iffy news: I'm still waiting for the testers to find time to try the fixes.

The weird news: I still have no idea why this thing didn't ever crash MY console, I've had very very similar things do it...
