I can get it working on OPL 0.8(ELF file) via FMCB 1.8 modded PS2 MC, but does anybody else have any cutscene probs w/ it? I tried to view that Draconis cutscene and it lags like crazy. I converted the files w/ USb Util 2.00 and defragged my USB Hitachi 1TB HD for it, and the gameplay w/ the patch work great actually! I'm just wondering if maybe a diff version/mode setting for OPL would make the cutscenes run better  Huh. The burned DVD5 works great so I have to switch backup methods for the cutscenes so a work around for better OPL compatibility would be nice

Haven't tried running anything via OPL in my entire life, but I can add it to my own testing list later down the line. (You'd be surprised by how many platforms I tried running Tales of Phantasia on before Cless released the demo patch)

No guarantees that anything will change just 'cause of that. However, I was under the impression that at least on the PS2, launching things from USB storage would always be a troublesome compatibility affair if the game streamed lots of data.

You should definitely try it either from internal HDD or via SMB. The PS2 usb ports are 1.0 which is too slow for the cutscenes to run at an acceptable speed in most games.

The lag in the cutscenes is due to the slow speeds of the USB 1.1 ports of the PS2. Blame Sony for not putting USB 2.0! This is something that happens to all games booted from a USB External HDD. If you run things through the network, the hickups will be gone.

I really need to give OPL a try. Sounds like it'll be extremely useful whenever I get back to work on the PS2 games.

If you need OPL here's where to get it:

or

http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=hd.html

You should really try it out if you got the time, much easier than having to tweak your PCSX 2 settings I think  haha

IDK about PS2's USB ports, but supposedly my HD's USB is a 2.0 and most games work great (ToD2 included). However I noticed that w/ the patch ToD 2 has 2 IOPRP as the DNAS/IOP when I try to patch the DNAS/IOP through USB Util 2.00 (it asks if both IOPRP243 and IOPRP255 should be patched).

Does this have anything to do w/ my prob? (usually there's only 1 IOPRP/DNAS to patch for most images)

That would be much appreciated, but just remember to defrag your drive of course  haha. To be honest I was quite skeptical @ the whole idea of OPL running games off an external HD through USB, but most of my games work great! The only catch is you need to check the compatibility list and loading screens take a little longer. (usually just those colored screens are the only slow down, but once it loads it's usually never lags!)
