nice to hear it will be a full translation, we really like the effort put into this project
It is only menus, at this point anyway. Don't count on the entire game being translated.

Cless said it will.

As its legality is questionable I won't provide it directly Google for "scph1001.bin" or "scph7502.bin".

Pull a Symphonia. Shorten the words D.Ray, A.Pressure, A.Nova, etc
I think Cless is trying to avoid them though just like he tried to avoid doing them to the monster names in the Phantasia project. Its not such a big deal.

Don't worry, I'm not really taking it out on you.. I'm just seeing some stupidity spreading on the internet about words in katakana and it's driving me NUTS. Some ass I was chatting with was INSISTING that the proper roman spelling of Dragon Quest was Doragon Kuesto while every single piece of box art, title screen, book, etc. etc. etc. (Japanese versions at that) have it written in its proper English form. Some people take their Japanophile craze to ridiculous extremes.
Ah, I can understand that. Don't get me wrong though, although I am quite a purist when it comes to translation projects, but I'm not really an extreme Japanophile. If they just change something and I have no way convincing them to change it, I just stay stuck with it.

I'm glad to hear that Tales of Destiny 2 is set to get a complete translation, rather than just the menus and such; awesome stuff there guys. The new font looks excellent, so I could see myself looking at it throughout the duration of the game without wanting to scratch my eyes out. Can't wait to here updates on the project, though if it takes a hell of a long time so be it; I'm quite the patient man.) No complaining on this end.
Keep up the good work.

Leaving the movenames in romaji would probably be the best way for us to recognize them though, since the majority of ToD2j's skill stuff hasn't ever been translated before, and I'd hate for us to pull a DeJap and use random names from the dictionary (Psion Bolt.. what the hell <_<).

Actually it isn't. They just tried to shorten the names by just using words similar to the ones the moves are called.

The tech names WILL be translated whenever we sort out the font size problems. Like with ToP PSX though the furigana will still be replaced with the original romaji, however.
And even when we do them, we won't be totally making them up like Dejap did with ToP SNES.
Also, didn't Abyss lift a move or two from ToD2j?

Yeah. Splash, Negative Gate, Divine Saber and some others. I haven't really played enough of either game to remember any more.

lawls!
you have anime/j-game fans... and then you have not-too-bright japanophiles
and yeah, abyss stole a few moves from ToD2, so you can use those names at least. apparently, the applicable moves are:
kuuhazeppuugeki - kyle/luke
ganzanmessaijin - kyle/luke
kuuhatokkoudan - loni/anise
shouharekkousen - judas/luke
i would imagine anise's shoubukoubappa is a pun on loni's senkoubappa, so that should probably also be taken into consideration.
EDIT: i changed the wording, mainly because i apparently confused myself and wasn't making sense.

I don't mind romaji. What is furigana by the way?

The little hiragana over/below/on/next to the kanji that tells you how you're supposed to read the kanji >_>;
