I didn't notice your pics before writing my previous response, but Pioneer drives are typically highly regarded in burning geekdom, so there's some hope for that.

The disc dye can be a factor too lol, the PS2 laser is kinda picky.

Hers is apparently only a couple years old...I'd hope something that recent would have a better laser head than the older ones. My 2004-era 50000 series PS2 can read fresh, crappy 8x Ritek DVD+RWs without too much fuss.

Ah yeah;

If it's a newer unit it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi there!

I'm a new member to this forum but a long time watcher of the website.

I know Cless is due to say "something" about Destiny DC in the next few days, but it seems Destiny 2's forum is not getting as much love as it should. So, Just wanna ask what the progress is with Destiny 2?

Also, Cless. If I said "Summer 2012", what would you say?

Still haven't done anything specifically with it yet. I have been focusing all my energy on Destiny DC. But I plan to implement most everything I've been working on with Destiny DC into 2; the two games are so similar on a technical level that it should not take too long to adjust everything for Destiny 2's use. So yeah, just laying groundwork with Destiny DC first.

Also, Cless. If I said "Summer 2012", what would you say?

A greatly refined menu patch is likely, full patch not a chance.

So Destiny before Destiny 2? Seems logical. Time to play one before the next one.

But, and I mean this with all due respect Cless, but it really has been a while. I know everyone has life shit but...this is an important series for me and others here.

I am not necessarily prioritizing one PS2 project over the other. Right now, I am more concerned with finishing up their backends. That way, all that will matter anymore is getting the text done.

I think Leon meant that he hopes these projects don't come down with Phantasia 10 year syndrome lol.

Of which backend issues were the major force. ToP didn't begin getting the hacking it really needed to make a release actually feasible until 2007. Script translation completed in 2008. Editing that into something readable took a lot of time due to motivational problems, complete inexperience at scriptwriting, and other priorities.

The PS2 projects' situation is completely different. Their backends aren't as much in dire need of tweaking as ToP did, though I've been hard at work implementing measures to heavily streamline everything, reduce or virtually eliminate the possibility of user error, and just make everything more organized as a whole. ToD DC, at the moment, has a translator with a reputable track record among the community on board, and I can't imagine finding an editor will be as difficult as finding one for ToP. I don't believe finishing these two will take anywhere near as along.

Great news, lots of good news for the Tales series recently. Smiley

I noticed rebirth PSP is getting some treatment along with the rebirth tl project, did someone make a proper debugger or what? Lol. Maybe they'll do ToP:X someday. Got to love that updated battle system in ToP.

Not just rebirth PSP, they're also making a patch for the PS2 one from what I've heard.

Consistent lurker peeking out just to say it is great that TOD2 is "Finally Active!" I look forward to reaping the rewards of your work  Wink

Yup, they officially mention it here http://tales.namco.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=90248

Also, if you go to their official page http://www.talesofrebirth.altervista.org/ they have a video clip of all the times Claire's name is mentioned. I do not know why I found it so funny haha but I did and do Smiley
