cless your work its really hard and you doit for free..,it wont be convenient to you to make some profit about this? i gladly pay you .. i dont know 500 dollars for the full localization of tod2 i asume some people here should do the same, you could make a good sum , but i guess its ilegal or something like that huh?

I'm sure that is borderline illegal, if not completely. It's sort of like fan games. You can use the characters of a copywritten franchise, but you have to specify that they are copywritten & to whom and you cannot charge money for the game.

Borderline illegal is a kinda soft term for this idea...
And leaving copyrights and other legal stuff, the localization is just a little ( Cless, guys, sorry, I'm not saying you work hard ^^ ) part of a game... The creative (design, drawing, music) efforts, and all the coding (if you know something about programming you'll know that it isn't an easy thing), and you''l be taking a lot of hard work and earning money without taking that in accout ( correct me if the expression was misused, please! )...

Tha games can be expensive ( and sometimes overpriced ) but they have hundreds of people that made it for living (from Namco's director to the guy that serves coffee to the programmers), and using their work as is, IMHO would be stealing...

This group (and most of unnofficial translation teams) works so the fans can have a better experience, and just for love to the game (and because they are great people that give away their free time to make this!!), not for profit.

Just so you guys know, tampering with the software in the first place is illegal. Also Kyle if you wanna donate somewhere, buy me some Gamecube games! I didn't do anything though. Wink

They're kidding, kyle.

There'd be a lawsuit if that really happens, not just with Namco, but with the workers when they find out the game can't be sold legally.
