So, I recorded a bunch of skits. The first real video of this project (besides that boring text speed demonstration)?
http://www.tales-cless.or...eo/ToP/skitexhibition.aviJust after recording this I caught a textual mistake, but I don't feel like re-recording it. Obviously, text is subject to change by the final patch.
Also, since we're decreasing the vertical spacing of the dialogue font, there's more room and I can restore the minor cut out text (in this case, the big version of the item name in the description):

I just posted this in the previous thread, too:
All skits subtitles are now inserted (aside from one really pesky one that needs to be further reverse engineered)! The skit script has been handed off to Nusakan for the final edit.
I put a lot of work into editing the text myself. Not to mention in a number of places I needed to edit some skit's scripting so I could break up long lines into multiple shorter ones. I did not want the subtitles to use more than two lines on-screen at a time. Retiming broken up lines properly is a big pain in the ass; it's all trial and error, and each trial takes at least 1-2 minutes. Sometimes you want to try timing a new subtitle to sync up to the speaking after a slight pause.
Habilain had to deal with a number of bug reports that slowed down technical progress, but those have mostly been dealt with.
Now, hopefully gogs will soon show up with the menu text that I gave him last year to edit, because I can really use that. *nudge* *nudge*
Further, I was (and still am) really, REALLY trying to shoot for a 2008 release. I...don't know if that's going to be met now. I just learned that Nusakan's having fun with midterms right now, and probably won't finish the last 20% of the main script edit until around the end of this month, and barely start on his edit of the skit script then. If it pans out like that, we could theoretically rush the testing phase to a ToP PSX 10th anniversary or Christmas release, but I'm not too keen on rushing anything if it boils down to that.
Basically, all that remains is:
1) Last 20% of main script edited and skit script edited
2) Menu text edited (last I heard there really wasn't much left to be done on this...)
3) Battle subtitles edited (very small)
4) A few more technical enhancements (I believe Habilain knows what he needs to do to get most of these implemented, but he's been fairly strapped for time, too)
5) Full beta testing (don't ask)
That's pretty much it.
