Your translator made it too blunt in my opinion. I mean, sure, the innuendo is there, but "how about we do it"? I don't think so.
It really wouldn't surprise me if the final script looks nothing like this. The screen I posted today had zero intervention by me or any other editors. If I had done anything, I would have certainly made it a little more suggestively ambiguous. I made an edit like that with the bath scene, cause that was also pretty bluntly presented in the script I have.
Anyway, I brought this up cause it just kinda surprised me. I didn't remember this being in the game, if I ever knew.
Final Fantasy 7 did things even crazier things than this, or anything else in other Tales games, and it still made it out with a T rating.

Of course. I never assumed that this was the final script. I've had enough people make assumptions off of my own screenshots (most of which I didn't like myself) that I try not to make assumptions with other people's work. That's why I was putting in an opinion on it while it can still be changed.
It's always amusing the kinds of things you can find in a game when you MUST deal with the whole script. I thought I knew a lot of what ToP had to offer, but there were still so many things that I hadn't even seen. Rating a game completely would be difficult. With an RPG, it would require talking to every NPC multiple time and of course, in the right order and at the right times to see everything. In other words, impossible. It's not all that surprising to see what can slip by if it's not in the mandatory part of the script.

eh, people usually find lots of things surprising if they don't discuss a game's mythos that much. Like Akazukin ChaCha in ToP; like Bastard!! references. And even more once they step outside the scope of the game. Like Hattifatteners; what "AC" reference stands for in AC Roper. Knowing the whole plot and every NPC line is arguably just the christening in geekdom.

The first time I really noticed that, I actually thought it was like some Aeris scene gone terribly wrong :p

Oh, I didn't think "how about we do it for 80,000" was that explicit, since it didn't specify what "it" is. But I agree "Hey, mister, how about 80,000?" "How about what?" is better now that you mention it.

You mean what I put down for "おっぱい、大きいねぇ~[heart]"? I toned it down too!
In the original it was blunt
and
mildly vulgar. (EDICT lists oppai as a "rude or X-rated term.")

Cyllya predicts:
--Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World will reveal that Ratatosk was involved in ToS's last required scene in Heimdall.
--Tales of Vesperia's plot will involve space aliens in some way

well, it's not really the "it" that makes it explicit, but the "(we) do" action. That sounds like "Let's do it for 80K." The action is added when it was more implied.
imo "hey, how about 80,000?" doesn't really work either. It can read like she's giving him 80K, as unlikely as that is. ("hey, how's 5 bucks sound?") Or she's just begging for money, instead of soliciting something. The GBA trans for just that line is actually my fave.
Keep Oppai, ookiinee~ raunchy though! :p
