Yeah, if you move the pagefile and disable hibernation, Windows 7 uses only around 8GB of space on one drive. With all my apps installed and a little bit of space wasted on misc data (which should be moved), I'm only using 21GB of the 40GB available. The remaining 19GB is pretty much scratch that can be used for whatever (temporary game installs, copied over project data, etc) since I won't be using it for much data storage.

I have plenty of conventional disks to make for the lack of space for things in general, though. I'm even keeping the flaky drive in operation since it hasn't gone weird again yet. For non-crucial things, obviously.

Even less if you use a bit of work arounds, I think my Windows 7 install is a bit over 6GB on my SSD on my Eee PC laptop....
But yeah, looking forward to seeing the project finished in the future.
I can't wait until SSDs get cheaper so I can throw one in my desktop without burning a hole through my wallet.

They ain't cheap, but they're getting down there. My plan was to not get one for a while, but my system drive showing signs of going south pushed those plans way ahead (they're a lot more reliable, inherently so because they don't have moving parts). Luckily, Intel only just released the X25-V (supports Windows 7 TRIM) a couple weeks ago or something. It costed $130, but I've been keeping my OS install/apps on separate partitions from my data and they don't really use tons of space. The speed increase is a very welcome upgrade, too.

Also, I apparently had more junk on the drive than I thought I had. Now I have about 23GB free.

I've also definitely gotten back to work, though today I'm mostly getting myself reacquainted with things since it's been like four months since I last touched this.

I wanted to switch to 7 myself since it's got a nice XP virtualization, but then realized I went cheap on the CPU back in the day thinking "I don't really need VT support"....... *kicks past self in the balls*

I got back into serious script editing a few days ago. In that time I've already added over ~14% of progress into the current script draft, which is well, surprisingly fast for me, especially considering how horribly slow I was when my motivation level started crashing. Let's hope it keeps up! That said, it puts this draft a little over 68% complete. My goal is to 100% it within two weeks. The speed I'm achieving may be helped by the fact that in general, it's certainly becoming harder for me find ways of polishing things any further.

Though not required, nusakan0 and I are interested in acquiring another editor who's competent with the language, has writing skills, is creative, and perhaps good at coming up with FUNNY (but fitting) jokes and puns to take a pass at the script, if possible. We like having more ideas.

Glad to see things are picking up again!

It'll be within a few days. That, I promise.

Today (Sunday) really sucked. I could not sleep at ALL the night before. I've been awake now for ~40 hours straight. Simply can't do this work effectively with an exhausted mind. Hopefully I can fall asleep tonight, but there is a chance it'll yet again be a sleepless night. We'll see...

Check to see if you could just use VirtualBox instead. On most of my computers that can't use the XP mode for Windows 7, I can still virtualize XP with VirtualBox...

Hell, I don't even use the built-in virtualization. I prefer the VirtualBox solution.

I still have a dual-boot with XP though for a couple really isolated things that demand performance.
