Weekend of July 5th-6th. It isn't a huge drop, but still, it's just in time for Vesperia. And Infinite Undiscovery. And Resident Evil 5.

Right now, in the province of québec, I doesn’t find any shops where they sell xbox360 60 gig. From what I heard, they wait to sell every 20gig. The USA shops don’t ship to Canada for this specific product only.

I really don’t know if the 60 gig is for the USA only, or if the price drop is only to sell 20 gig console.

If someone can inform me about what in that is true and what it’s not, it will be nice.

The 60 gig is replacing the 20.

But there's a rumor that the Elite and Pro (60GB) packages are going to see a $50 drop, with the Arcade dropping $70 (but that doesn't change the fact that the Arcade is still a trap) in another month or so...

I'm guessing this is part of the "New Xbox Experience" initiative. If so, I'm betting the $199 Arcade SKU is going to coincide with the release of the fall dashboard update.

(but that doesn't change the fact that the Arcade is still a trap)

Hi, I have a little question about that (I quote cless but the question is directed towards anyone willing to answer).

I am thinking about buying an arcade,  just because I only want to but one to play a few x360 games (the ones mentioned in clesses first post like vesperia and infinite undiscovery, but also mass effect and perhaps assasins creed, and I thought I heard the FF series was mentioned to also be released on x360 at the E3 (not just on the playstation3)).

So I have no interest whatsoever in backwards compatibility with originial xbox-games, feel no need to go on xbox live (got's me wii and me wii-owning friends for all the online gaming with mario kart, smash bros and in december lightsaber battling with clone wars), got no interest in watching movies via my xbox and I have no HDTV. I REALLY only want to play most of the above mentioned x360 games and be able to save them. I have no problem however playing one game at a time though and using the 256MB memory only for saing one game at a time.

And maybe, MAYBE, in a year or two I would like to buy a harddrvine for the x360 which I could then do at that time. But that would only be for testing XNA-games I by then hope to be making. But thats a whole different story.

MY question then, am I overlooking something? 'Cause with my minimal demands one would say that the arcade would be fine, right? Or is it...........?

Thanx in advance to whomever answers.

Theoretically, it should meet your demand.

However, the Pro is really a much better value. The 60GB HDD ($100 extra) gives you more storage for your dollar over the memory cards (512MB @ $40 each). Beyond game saves, there's system updates and XBLA titles and Downloadble Add-Ons that also take up memory. If you can wait to acquire the extra $100, it's really worth it.

Thanx spaceworlder

I'm thinking it over, mainly because of your point about the system updates. Hadn't thought about that.

yea id go with the pro. My brother regretted bying just the memory card and no hard drive. a couple months later he ended paying for a hard drive and xbox live which would have saved him more money in the first run. Playing online games is worth it. Smiley even if they are from the arcade Wink.

Pro-Tip: If you decide to get a Live Gold membership, the 12-month cards sold on Amazon are a great value. They throw in an extra month for free, plus you can usually find them on the Amazon marketplace for ~$41.
