This lack of excitement for the Wii and its announcements disturb me.

Nintendo has announced the Wii will be released on November 19 and will retail for $250.

Gamespot's complete coverage of Wii.

I wasn't in the mood to say anything.  All I have to say is...Perfect!  It's definately what I expected.  I am so going to get it now!

Also, it's nice to hear that the Twilight Princess Wii controls are more refined.  Not only that, the Wii is also supposely region-free, according to Gamespot's Rumor Control, so that's an extra point.  So all I have to say is, "Oh yeah!"

What would make it perfect is some Tales, but everything else is perfect. : )
Wii Love Katamari may be in order.

Swords of Legendia...? (still know nothing about it, of course)

Anyway, yeah... I'm so all over this. Still a day 1 purchase. No Metroid Prime 3 at launch is kinda disappointing, but Red Steel seems to be shaping up further. I'd really like to try some first person action with the remote.

Wii Sports Boxing looks badass. Still hoping for a new Punch-Out!! though.

Nintendo promised a price of no more than $250, and they have now delivered. Thank you, Nintendo, you've made me believe again. ^__^

Sword of Legendia... Just having the word Legendia in the title makes it seem like it's related to ToL... but it doesn't have the word Tales in it like what was said in your topic... wonder what's going to come of it...

It might be nice to see what the rest of the world in ToL is like (since all we really get to see is what's on the Legacy); So speculatively, there's a chance it could be about that, if it is linked to the Tales series at all...

I really hope Wii catches on worldwide, it looks so amazingly promising. If only the local stores here weren't so pro-Sony/MS... >_>;

Note that the console itself isn't region free if it can still enforce regional lockouts. Since they're saying developers will still be able to lock their games if they want to, the console can still enforce the lockout. If the console itself, rather than the games, was regionless, it would never enforce the regional lockout the discs indicate.

There's regionless DVD players. They will play DVDs from any region, no matter what region they are marked for. Then there's normal DVD players, which can only play DVDs with their region number, or regionless DVDs marked with an ALL instead of a number in the region icon. The Wii is currently sounding like the latter option, just like Xbox and Xbox 360 already are, which isn't regionless. The DS is like the former option.

A console can only truly be regionless if developers don't have the option of locking their games to a region. If it's an option, it still almost guarantees that we will have locked games, thus making any advertisement that the console itself is regionless false, and providing justification for modifying the console.

The two titles I was overtly excited and geared up for, Metroid Prime 3 and Dragon Quest Swords, are no longer launch titles. And even though I threw up a little when Nintendo said they were making Twilight Princess "for the Western audience" I still think it'll probably be bad ass, so I'm still onboard for a day one purchase. This will be my first launch console since the SNES.. and even if the games I really wanted are pushed back a little bit, I feel it's my duty as a gamer to support the mere idea of this console.

As for other games, I'll probably pick up Rayman. Michael Ancel's enthusiasm and praise for Wii makes me think this could turn out to be a great game.. and I have this dim hope deep down that if Rayman sells well enough for Wii that maybe, just maybe, Ubisoft might finally give the man the go-ahead to make Beyond Good & Evil 2 (could you imagine THAT as a Wii exclusive?!). I'd like Trauma Center but now I'm hearing it's just a souped up port of the DS version.. so I don't know about that one. Red Steel comments have been all over the place ranging from "has great promise" to "utter shit," but it's something I'll keep an eye on just in case it's the former.. but I would like some kind of FPS for the system, it just seems PERFECT for the genre.

Of course this is coming out the same week as the Tales of Destiny remake.. Angry

Oh, I will be getting a chance to play Wii on October 20th, I'm going to the Nintendo Fusion Tour with a journalist friend of mine. He's not quite sure if he'll be getting special press passes or just regular ol' tickets.. but either way I'll get an early taste of the system and I can report back here if anyone wants to know something specific.

I haven't found anything I would like other than Twilight Princess and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Azn;;  Maybe there will be a Kirby game :0  Or another Paper Mario game (RPG not platform, although Super Paper Mario looks like fun xD)

I still want a DS ...
