The custom firmware I linked can do the same things as downgrading to 1.5. In terms of back uping for now. Homebrew-made games/apps will need to be updated though.

I am in the same, I hope that someday there is a form easier to install the CFW in the PSPs.

I know...why doesnt sony just give up and let use the psp for what its good for
WARNING: IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY A SLIM JUST TO PLAY GAMES ON UR TV WATCH OUT
It doesnt work I guess you need a different cable than I have
"quoted directly from my TV screen"
"To display this screen on a connected device, you must be connected using a component AV cable or a D-teminal AV cable and you must output the video content in progressive format"
can someone tell me what this means

If I'm not mistaken, you'll need a TV that supports progressive scan plus component/D-terminal cables.

Wikipedia is your friend.

Don't worry about it, it doesn't seem to be used much outside of Japan.

Hmm, then I don't see why you're having a problem then. Obviously you should be outputting in progressive format if it's telling you to. Also make sure the settings are all correct before outputting like if you want to output to a 4:3 TV, make sure you set the PSP to output 4:3 format, same with 16:9, etc and adjust accordingly for progressive if you want that. I don't know much about how the PSP works with TVs, but those are just a few common sense things. Unless those cables are indeed faulty, then it should work.
