If you need to get something out of the old forum or want to continue a discussion (and grab quotable text), you can find the old forum here. Continue the discussions in their appropriate forum.

I managed to install the old database in a different manner, and it worked somehow, so there you have it. I've made the old forum read-only.

I've decided to officially stick with this SMF. I think I like it better.

Hmm...it's redirecting for some stupid reason. Too lazy to figure out why.

Try this:

Does anyone have any use for this anymore? I'm not really sure I do. The place is a spambot magnet now and recently one of them sent spam private messages out to some people (and I'm not one of them, oddly enough). I turned on admin activation to prevent new bots from logging in and doing stuff, but I don't know if it's actually working because that version of phpBB is just crap.

I'm considering to just kill it off.

You didn't set it to read-only?

Such an option doesn't appear to exist.

I know an old message board I had which was sponsored though invision free had the options to make the entire forum both read only and the ability to close/delete them for good.

Looks like the Wayback Archive has a pretty complete copy of the old board so if you can't manage to set it read-only this should be an alright replacement.

I might try to just upgrade it to phpBB 3 if I feel like it later. Hopefully THAT will have a read-only mode.
