It's that time of the year again. Companies are releasing all their big guns almost at once.

The lineup that interests me to varying degrees:

Wii
Endless Ocean
Fire Emblem
Metroid Prime 3
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros Brawl

DS
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker
Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings
Front Mission
Heroes of Mana
Luminous Arc
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 3: Trials and Tribulations
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Rune Factory
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

PS2
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Soul Nomad
Wild ARMs 5

Xbox 360
Assassin's Creed
Bioshock
Blue Dragon
Call of Duty 4
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
Mass Effect

PSP
Brave Story
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (that subtitle is TERRIBLE)
Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions
Jeanne D'Arc

PS3
Folklore

Gaming is crazy these days. There's just TOO much interesting stuff coming out these days. There's no way I can afford all of this.

It's hard to prioritize. I may skip the 360 this year altogether, even though I really want one right now, and even have Eternal Sonata on pre-order. Obviously, the PS3 is way out of reach and one game [that I only have a passing interest in] isn't going to get me to pay that much.

I'm thinking i'm going to have to hold a lot of stuff over for the annual Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free dealie before getting some of the later stuff. Others are going to have to be gotten from the bargain bin.

As it is, my backlog is already huge.

Let's see, from that list, my priority purchases will be:

Metroid Prime 3
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 3: Trials and Tribulations
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Soul Nomad (haven't quite decided on this one)
BioShock (the game I'm anticipating the most right now)
Eternal Sonata

I am interested in other games on the list but I'll probably leave them until next year.

Incidentally (I may as well put this here), I received my repaired 360 a couple of weeks ago, so far so good with it, the replacement drive (Hitachi) is still quite loud but much easier to tolerate than the old one. My sister recently got broadband so I may have an opportunity to try out XBL soon as well.

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (that subtitle is TERRIBLE)

I got the impression they were being deliberately quirky with that subtitle, it kinda reminds me of the book title "The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul" Smiley

Yep.  It's that time to empty our wallets again.  The release onslaught is coming.

Just from your list alone, there's stuff for me to grab (stuff italicized I'm considering while bold stuff are "You're not stopping me from getting it!"):

Wii:
Fire Emblem
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros Brawl

DS:
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 3: Trials and Tribulations
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

PS2
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3

Xbox 360 (Don't own one yet but hey, there's games that's making me get one):
Assassin's Creed
Blue Dragon
Eternal Sonata (Eternal Sonata is practically putting a gun to my head to make me buy the Xbox 360)
Lost Odyssey

PSP
Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions
---
To put it in a way, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Eternal Sonata are pretty much my big hitters for this year, while Assassin's Creed is getting my interest rising.

i'd say my biggest titles this year are Metroid Prime 3, Phoenix Wright 3 (even though I still have yet to play the second one for some reason), and Eternal Sonata. Soul Nomad is fairly up there but the fact that it's supposedly very different from the previous NIS SRPG offerings, so I can't expect it to be a guaranteed winner yet. Tongue

I like to support the little guys so I'll probably pre-order the ones from them as well as my most anticipated. So far, I have the following pre-ordered:

Brave Story (actually, already bought it since it's out. I needed some filler to use a $20 off $100 coupon at Newegg, and I chose this. Supposed to be quite good, anyway. Whee, I'll now have two PSP games with no PSP)
Eternal Sonata
Luminous Arc
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 3
Rune Factory
Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3
Wild ARMs 5

I intend to pre-order Soul Nomad when that's possible. Other than that, most everything else can wait awhile...

First, I must get a Wii to further increase my backlog. I mostly just want Brawl, Corruption, and Galaxy. Then rebuying RE4 for Wii because I just can't get enough of that game, even after my friend came over today with his Wii version and I five-starred everything in Mercenaries for him and finished his Professional mode run to get the new P.R.L. and witnessing it's brokenness. I must also catch up on DS titles and Phantom Hourglass, though getting a DS isn't too much of a priority. Wii comes first, but a 360 would be my second choice console, though I don't feel like increasing my backlog further and possibly becoming an achievements whore.

I agree with Gamespot on calling it the "Great Gaming Avalanche of 2007."

Fro what you mentioned Smash Bros Brawl, Phoenix Wright 3, Final Fantasy Tactics remake, Disgaea Portable, Wii Fire Emblem and the DS Zelda are probably what I'll go for.

Heroes of Mana might be good however Like with most of the other mana games, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Legend of Mana will probably be still better.

Since Comiket is coming up this week, the doujin scene will be strong as well. Woo, Mountain of Faith =)

Eternal Sonata is also making me feel like buying an Xbox even though I told myself I'd never buy one >_<
