SHOULD FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE BE RATED "M" FOR MATURE???

When FF7 came out I was like 8 or 9 and one scene stuck in my head from when I first saw it and that was when Jenova breaks loose and president Shinra is murdered. Now I was watching this at my friends house because I still didn't have playstation (had sega lol) and I didn't get it until a year later I think and I got FF7 too and I noticed for a teen rated game, it had alot of adult content. Protestutes, Homosexuality, transexuals, attempted rape on Cloud, Strong Sexual references, Barret and Cid's colorful language lol, and Aeris and Zach's death scene (although they censored Zach's death scene in NA version). I wonder if the game will still include all this because if it didn't, it just wouldn't seem like FF7... FF7 had one of the oldest cast of characters in the FF series and was the darkest AND funniest FF game I've ever played... Anyway, I hope that they just go ahead and give it the M rating because I want the cussing and all that other stuff that made this game unique... Hopefully they don't make Cid like he was in Kingdom Hearts... now that would be bad lol

I liked 7 okay and all, but I really not dying for a remake of it. They already had a movie, for goodness' sake.  Though, I'm not even sure they're doing one, since people have been both 'confirming' and denying it near daily.

Well that is true that they made a movie. But I really liked Advent Children, they do FF Dirge if Cerberus with is better than 12 for me, and now they making FF Crisis Core - the story of Zack guessing from the movie.

It be fun if they actually do the remake but on PS2 too!!!

and for the "M" for me it's really doesn't matter as long as the game, and gameplay (toying with materia[one of the best ideas ever made in rpg]    will be good

Yeah but if they take away the naughty stuff, it won't be the unique FF I remember lol.. its the only FF with strong sexual refrences and strong language... I'm actually really hoping for the remake but i hope they don't water it down...

What'd they censor in Zach's death scene?  He looked pretty shot up to me.

In the U.S. version, when u go to the lab where vincent was and look at the tubes,
Cloud talks about how Zack rescued him and it shows a flashback of Cloud in the truck. Shinra soldiers pull the truck over and you can see midgar from a distance in the background but anyway, the screen goes black and you here gun fire. It shows this part uncensored in the FF Advent movie and yes, Zack is getting blasted lol, but I don't know why they censored that because there wasnt any blood, just Zack getting shot up lol... but anyway, I think it happens that way, but i Haven't played FF7 in like 4 years so I may be wrong.

From what I remember from that whole sequence, Cloud was zonked out of his mind and Zack kept saying that they'll become mercenaries.  When they get to Midgar, Zack and Cloud get ambushed by Shinra soldiers and then Zack puts Cloud on the side of the road and kills the first wave of soldiers.  Then Zack gets shot and flies toward the cliff overlooking Midgar, and then some soldiers walk up and shoot him while he is lying on the ground.  They leave Cloud alone since they think that he is almost dead anyway, and then Cloud crawls over to Zack and screams in a WHYYYY type of pose.

It shows the whole scene in the U.S. version.  How Hojo found everyone and put Cloud and Zack in the pods, how Zack broke out and saved Cloud, the truck ride, and Zack's death scene.

Now thats weird because in my version it blacks out right at that part and all you can hear is gun fire lol... maybe because I have the greatest hits version, but I don't knw...

I say yes, unless they cut some off that out. They can also add a deleted sex minigame.

That is weird.  Maybe they did take it out in the greatest hits one because I remember his body twitching when he got shot and everything.

DARN ESRB!!!!! Speaking of FF7, I heard it was band because of the whole little thing about AVALANCHE being a terrorist organization. If there is a remake, do you think that that would hinder it becoming available in North America because let's face it, AVALANCHE is a terrorist organization lol.

Rated M for "Mature" is a bit of a misnomer in my opinion, as most of the content of M rated games is almost exclusively aimed at more of the 13-18 male market. I don't see what gratuitously amplifying the sex and violence in Final Fantasy VII would accomplish other than being titillating to a handful of younger boys.

Hahaha.............. Well, if you read what I wrote, you'd notice that no one said anything about amplifying any sexual scenes. This content is already in the game like the bee brothel with the @#$% room, which I always wondered what that stood for. Anyway, since it seems that everyone on this site seems to have ADHD and like to stray from the subject and also can't focus, I will write like I am talking to a five year old now. So kiddies, since FF7 is orginally rated "T", DO you THINK, IF REMADE, that IN this CURRENT age, POST 9/11,  when YOU play ACTUAL terrorist IN a VIDEOGAME and IT also HAS very QUESTIONABLE content; should IT BE rated "M" for MATURE??? No, it shouldn't.  Why change the rating of a game due to events that happened in the real world that may have made it a touchier subject?  I'm sure your average teenager would see more terroristic activity and whatnot on the news and internet than in FF7.
