I'm a little disappointed this is more of a port than a remake, using the original camera angles and all. But at least I don't have to dig out an old GameCube controller to play it. Plus, all of mine are wired and my Wii is at least 10 feet away from the couch I play it on.

I'd  personally like an original RE game in the vein of RE4 (not necessarily RE5) for the Wii.

I seriously don't even understand the point of this. It's not like the GameCube version is even rare! What does an old school-type RE game have that could be significantly improved by the Wii remote? It was a natural fit with RE4, but this, I don't have a clue.

They should be churning out new games with the RE4 engine. It's perfect! Hell, make a new dino crisis with it or something. I even wouldn't mind seeing the original trilogy re-imagined RE4-style because I can't play the old ones with their control scheme and camera.

Lots of people have been vocal about an RE4-style RE2 remake at least. I wouldn't mind a game with Leon again.

It's an even bigger kick in the nuts when RE4 and UC outperformed their expectations. Are they trying to use this as an excuse to suddenly bail out of Wii development? As far as I understand it, it's generally seen as a very weak entry by apparent RE fans. Why would anyone want to buy a crap game again?

I wholly agree for you.

If this should be announced it should be like "here's a new RE game coming for the wii, and for those who missed the GC version we will re-print RE0 and RE remake updated for the Wii without requiring a GC controller"

Other than that... meh, easy money and not very respectful for the userbase.

I also have to agree about this.  What's the point?  Besides, how exactly are you going to use the Wii controls for the old style Resident Evil?

Not to mention, Resident Evil 0 was when I ended up realizing that the series was getting stale that I just wasn't able to finish it.  Considering that, I'm just going to have to pass on this.

This again is another commercial, only to make more money from the same title gosh  Lips Sealed

That is really so lame to do. It is good for fighting game such asTekkenwhere we get almost exact the same thing only witch new character an a few moves. It works cuz every one is happy to see and play (if so) only new characters and fighting witch the old one.

And unless RE0 will be a completed new game I don't see the point CAPCOM re-release RE0 on Wii other than a few $$$ in their buts. They could at least make it first person.

But they count that a RE fan boys bought every thing with the name Resident Evil in title ;/

I didn't think that, I mean, sure it's the classical formula, but it's also the classical resident evil game I liked the most.

But that doesn't mean I see sense in this port happening, I don't.

I expect we'll see REmake get the same treatment.

Well, they did indeed manage to make the same people buy the original version 3 times on the original PlayStation over a time period of 2 years Grin

Making someone buy this when they re-release it 6 years after its initial release will be a cakewalk to them.
