i'm currently translating a PSX game from japanese to english.  i used Playstation Movie Converter to extract and convert the movie files to .AVI files.  i then created subtitles and added them to the .AVI files.  now, i know how to convert them into .STR files, but this particular game stores all of the movies in one .STS file.  does anyone know exactly how to extract and insert data into one of these files?  if not, the game will make very little sense.  the movies are played between rounds.

well, assuming there's no header data...

copy /b movie1.str+movie2.str+movie3.str+movie4.str movie.bin

...worked for ToP.

That, I'm not sure. If the resulting adjoined file isn't exactly the same size as the one ripped from the disc, then it's probably in the movie archive. But that seems rather unlikely since mode 2 data seems to be used exclusively for XA audio or STR movies with embedded XA audio.
