Hello!

First many many thanks to Cless for that great PlayStation hacking doc Version 2 tutorial, it was finally what I needed after searching around a long time Smiley

I want to try to undub a few of my favorite PSX games and so far made it to the step where you have to create the image with buildcd.exe after creating the CTI file.

However buildcd gives me an error message and I guess it has problems with a certain XA file which has a longer file name than all the other files Sad

The error message is:
Code:
Error 52 - File RML4.CTI, Line 634
The Specified Source File BOSSIN~1.XA Cannot be Found

The files full name is BOSSINT_U.XA and it is the only file which name becomes shortened in the CTI:

Code:
File BOSSIN~1.XA
         XASource D:\Desktop\UNDUB\RML4\XA\BOSSIN~1.XA
EndFile

I already tried to change the name in the CTI file in both lines or just one of them and that didn't help, so I guess it is buildcd.exe that has a problem with the real files name on my computer.

So did anyone here maybe already had this problem and is there a way to fix it? Or is there an alternative program to buildcd I could try?

Thanks again and greetings Smiley

BuildCD might be tied to old 8.3 filename limitations.

Have you tried renaming the local file to BOSSINTU.XA (removing the underscore) and trying something like like this:

File BOSSINT_U.XA
         XASource D:\Desktop\UNDUB\RML4\XA\BOSSINTU.XA

The real filename under the "File" line, and the local filename in the XASource line. I don't know if that will work, however.

Thanks for the fast reply Smiley

The problem is solved and I feel almost too embarrassed to say what it was Wink

I wanted to replace the XA files from the English version of the with the Japanese XA files and the name of the Japanese one is BOSSINT.XA. There are many others (VOICE1.XA, VOICE2.XA and so on) and they all have the same name in the English version except an underscore with a U (VOICE1_U.XA and so on).
The only exception here is the file BOSSINT.XA which is called BOSINT_U.XA in the English version, they took a S away what I first didn't notice, I just added the underscore and a U  Roll Eyes

Now the image build just fine and it works Smiley

However there is now another problem, even though I could replace all the XA files not all the voices were changed back to the Japanese voice actors. It seems that the XA files contain all the voices that you hear in cut scenes where you can't control the characters but all the "in game voices" (shouts out of pain, when attacking or jumping and so on) are still the English ones.
Are there some standard methods to find out where the data for such sounds might be or how to get them? Beside the XA and STR files there is still a 30 MB big DAT file on the CD and a folder called ARC with many files that end on arc.

Thanks again and greetings Smiley
