Oh yeah, Tales of the Voice is ToP

Its gonna be full of voice acting, not just on the world map sketches, but actual CSs will be voiced, and probably more?!

The graphics are awesome!

Tales of Phantasia PSP. Looks almost exactly like Tales of Phantasia PS1 to me. The sprites in the battle picture look less SDed though, so I guess there's going to be other improvements.

Still, I got a DS and promised myself that I wouldn't buy a PSP, no matter what the temptation. I think Sony's anti-piracy measures are going to be counter-productive in this case though. I'm simply not capable of playing an RPG in Japanese, the English translation of ToP-GBA redefined how sloppy I thought a translation could be, and Sony are going to do everything in their power to ensure a fan translation of this never exists.

Oh well. Time to get back to drooling over Yoshi's Island 2, and maybe see if I have enough money for New Super Mario Bros....

There's a Yoshi Island 2!? I MUST see this! Erhm... anyway.

I thought there was already a thread posted on this, anyway...

If ToP PSP is going to be released in other places outisde Japan, then I have quite a fear to what the game would be like, fully voice acted. If they do use the ToP GBA voices, I will very dissappointed. Whilst its okay for those horrendous voices to be certain cutscenes or in battles, but to have to listen to them for the whole game would promise to be a nightmare.

As for PSP and such, I would agree. The measures Sony's taking to prevent anti-piracy and all is what's turning me off it. Considering with the new PSX emulator coming out for and Sony forcing us rebuy the games, and the PSP's poor game selection, I'm kinda starting to lose respect to Sony.

As I said in another forum...

If the PS3 does end up being a big flop I'm going to sit in the corner and cry as the new Gradius is ruined....... until I start playing with my Wii!!!

EDIT: I said PSP? I meant PS3 for the bottom line, argh.

Yeah, especially since, I *bought* my PS specificaly for emulators and whatnot. There are possibly 2 games seeing a US domestic release in the future that could be good, other then that, I certainly didn;t get it for the official games out for it, for certain.

BTW, when did US domestic titles become so prevalient? I don;t really think they've gotten much (any) better from the amoral/trendwhore crap  and horrid sports/moviegames they've been churning out since the playstation/N64 era, but now it's all I hear about is the new 'steal things/kill people' title or Madden coming out next : \

It's no different in Japan. The difference is that the yearly sports and trend-whoring games there STAY there. If you go to Japan you'll see shelves littered with garbage Japanese games (there's dozens of creepy games that are nothing more than looking at pictures of cartoon girls *shudder*) and most of the American stuff they get is usually our top stuff.

You do know that its possible to play new games that need firmware 2.5 and above on a PSP with 1.5 firmware right?

Yeah, but I like the features of 2.0 for now, there's nothing I want badly enough out yet, so I'll deal with downgrading and tricking the 1.5 firmware when I actually have to. For now, I'm good.
