A fairy archer? I'm in love.

Man, I can't believe how fast we've gone from zero to frothing hype with this game. *laughs* Hopefully the gameplay can live up to the amazing screenshots and art. Has anybody other than myself actually played Princess Crown? Most of my excitement stems from the ties to that title.

Big fan of Princess Crown here (buy the PSP game guys!), but apparently it's not supposed to be like Princess Crown according to the creators.

Still it's Atlus, so that warrants all the excitement in the world.Hopefully they bring over Persona 3 FES, too. I <3 Atlus.

Yeah... The perspective reminds me a bit of Paper Mario as well, big 2D sprites on a 3D (well, the illusion of 3 dimensions through shading for this game) background...

Well that just makes me love Sony. They get mod-chips banned, making it virtually impossible to play anything that doesn't get a PAL release, then I end up staring at fantastic looking games like this that will never get a PAL release!

I know they're trying to make up for this with the PS3, but it's a bit *****ing late for PS2 games like this.

The PS3 is a doomed system though. Plus you can still get mod chips but you'll have get it them from other sources.

The PS3's PS2 game support is not region free plus its PS2 game support as was already mentioned is shit. Then again this is coming from a company that was going off banning import sites when this is what the Region free system was encouraging >_>

The PS3 is a doomed system though.

I'll still probably buy one though. With a mostly open system like that, there's always the possibility that someone will create a third-party PS2 emulator (Sony's already proved the PS3 has the power for it). Then there's the fact that Sony will have some exclusives that I can't live without.

Plus you can still get mod chips but you'll have get it them from other sources.

Problem is, I don't really trust myself to install one. I'm slowly gaining confidence though, so  may do it anyway at some point.

The temptation of course is to get a mod-chip, then never buy another PS2 game (e.g. pirate everything) just to spite Sony. I must say it seems appealing...

Well it's fairly obvious why Sony made the PS3 region-free and an open platform. It means they can target mod-chip manufacturers with extreme prejudice now, because their only use is for piracy. Sony is looking out for #1, and they're doing a poor job of hiding it.

One can argue that mod chips are not always for piracy and that some buy it to play legitimately imported games on their region's console for the purpose of not having to import another region's console which has not been tested on their electrical standards. But still, I agree with you that Sony's practices are selfish.

I have a mod-chip to play imports.. but I won't lie, it's very useful for trying games out. I mean, you can't really rent a Japanese game, and dropping $60+ on something to end up with a turd would probably be a quick way to end my import buying practices. But I think one look at apartment would tell you that I'm in no way one of those crappy little kid internet pirates.

That doesn't work with the DMCA or EUCD though. They make it illegal to circumvent copy protection for any reason, the fact that your fair use rights are infringed has apparently been missed. The passing of both seems to have marked a new age in which content providers feel free to trample over the interests of consumers with impunity. I see an eventual corporate bloodbath when the general public finally tires of this treatment...
