Well... Hopefully it's still coming to the US. XSEED announced that they're no longer involved with it. At this point, all we can do is hope that someone else has already picked it up.

I have no idea what the hell could've possibly happened with that, but I'm fairly confident that at least Atlus will rescue it. Odin Sphere was a tremendous success for them.

Well, that was fast. Ignition Entertainment has it now.

That has me scared actually, because Lux-Pain apparently received an abysmal, careless localization.

I don't know much about them, so hearing that doesn't really inspire much confidence... With the game already outside of Atlus' control, I had resigned myself to an average localization. As long as a company can manage that, I won't complain...

Apparently, the translation for Lux-Pain was made internally by Killaware (the developers) so maybe there's hope?

Lux Pain is an excellent game (a friend of mine can confirm that, as she has played it in Japanese), but the localization killed it.  I'm just hoping that they'll proofread the scripts this time. >_>

edit: Internally? Meaning that the developers themselves translated it? >o>Huh

Well, I guess if it wasn't done by Ignition themselves, then I suppose there's hope. I know nothing else about them.

I'm having a hard time finding what else they have published, since they originated in the UK (and the wiki is a stub).  It appears that they are responsible for SNK's stuff in Europe....

Here's their published list in Moby Games: http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/ignition-entertainment-ltd/published-by/list-games/]list ~

Isn't the story and writing the most important parts of a visual novel? Why would they ever slack on something like that that's just really stupid. Hope this game gets a good localization (hoping they retain an original audio track with a translation for it).

On NeoGAF quoted mails from XSeed employees stated that they are always localizing the games by Marvelous, but Marvelous prefers other publishers to pick up for (what they hope) better and more publicity.

I think Muramasa still has a chance of a good localization.  If Lux-Pain's case is strictly its own because of the internal translation (the source in the wiki) I think Ignition would learn from it and not make the same mistake.

Ignition went through the trouble of (from what I have heard) good voice acting and even including an artbook with Lux-Pain.  I think they might try something similar for Muramasa.

(I suppose the reason why Lux-Pain wasn't localized by XSeed is because of the reason stated by emails to NeoGAF members...)

edit: It is still Ignition's fault for not proofreading the script.  Just thought I should point that out. ^^;;  It kind felt like I was blaming the initial translation...

edie: Hey, I just found out that Ignition is responsible for Blue Dragon Plus, which I hear is good. o_O

(>_>)b ??

edit:

And here's another news involving the Lux-Pain localization >o>

They promise a better job. ^^;

Wait, isn't Xseed the company who offered to translate Tales of Rebirth?
