Since a lot of traveling and family events are going on these days, I've had to live with my portables...

So these days, the following games are getting a little bit of attention:

Contra 4: WayForward did a splendid job on this one and the music by Jake Kaufman is like some sort of gift from a god of musicians! Now, where's my EU release? (There's a certain lack of locals with the game Sad)

Silent Hill Origins: I'm actually positively surprised by this game so far. (Not gonna comment on story, as I'm not done) Only annoying thing with it is that it's far too easy. The puzzles are simple Resident Evil like things and the amount of random objects you get that you can toss or fire at enemies is far greater than the amount of enemies that you'll ever bother engaging combat with.

Now... in the very non-distant future, the following games will get played:

Metroid Prime 3: I'm actually in the middle of a play through of this one, it's just that I lack a TV over at the place I've currently got my Wii...

Super Mario Galaxy: Same problem as above, just that the lack of a screen at that place has existed since before the release of Galaxy.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles: Out this Friday here in Europe, but it'll probably get stuck in the same situation as the above... screeeeeeeeeeeen...

Mass Effect: This little baby is waiting for me... but I don't have time for the 360 these days...

Naruto - Rise of a Ninja: I actually want to play this one really badly, but for some reason, I'm too stubborn to order it online... So I'm just waiting for a local store to get it back in stock.

Ace Combat 6: There is a part of me that keeps telling me that this game IS a god of some sort... I think it's the ACE EDGE controller that makes it so... now... I just need an ACE EDGE and I'll be all over that 360 and begging it to forgive me for not giving it any attention these days.

Though, whatever I may be playing or waiting for in the nearest future (Hello Tales of Innocence), it'll all just be something I'll be playing to make sure time moves forward while taking breaks from the other activities I do while I'm waiting for Lost Odyssey, ofcourse Cheesy

I've noticed that just matching his level wouldn't work. I'm leveling up because I need to have Marona and my other healers have enough MP to use Revive in battle at least twice, and raise the other characters' Speed and movement range at least a bit.

The biggest problem I'm having with this battle is that I _need_ to use Ash to destroy all the crystals making the boss invincible, and when I'm finished with them, there's only one turn left. Then I can only attack the boss once, and even with his Solemn Vow skill AND Heliotrope equipped, it only takes 30% of his HP. >_>

Hope the insanely powerful swords and axes I'm getting on the Failure dungeons will help me save him for the end of the battle next time I try. Tongue

Axes are huge problem weapon since they lower speed by a lot and it takes awhile to fix that problem. I recommend Spears and Swords for physical attackers.

It should also be noted that Archers are pretty much a generic class version of Ash only without Rising Dragon and has a better unarmed attack. I love my Archer ^_^

Just finished up the half-way point boss in Super Mario Galaxy, considering how worth it will be to go for 120 Stars. This is actually the most of any Mario game I have played. The design and gameplay is amazing, though easy. When you do find a hard level it is really satisfying when you finally beat it though.

Beat the main story of Zack and Wiki, another awesome Wii game. I find myself pointing and clicking on the screen in Mario all the time expecting him to run to that spot. Unique gameplay, enjoyable characters, and really makes you think.

Almost finished with both Final Fantasy III on DS and FFT: Lion Wars.

I'm still getting a lot of enjoyment out of Warhawk for PS3. I am actually playing that more than Assassin's Creed. Which despite being an amazing game, it crashes like once an hour on my PS3 and despite not actually ruining anything it is just so annoying that I am generally done with the game for the day.

I got some sad news the other day that the Monster Hunter servers are shutting down. While I haven't played this in over a year, it is still my favorite game of all time. So I'm going to have to put some time in  it online before the end of this month. The PSP versions just aren't the same without online. I would recommend that everyone who can go online with their PS2 or PS3 buy this game for cheap and give the online a try before the chance to experience it is gone forever Sad.

EDIT: There was a patch for Assassin's Creed for PS3 released and now the game runs great.

I've been playing Soul Calibur Legends (Wii).  Seriously, if you're thinking of playing this, just rent it.  Didn't expect much from it when this game was announced and it really isn't much.  It's pretty shallow and repetitive, the camera is awful, and there's bad dialogue ("We are a woman?"  I am not making that up.  Someone in the game actually used grammar).  Not to mention, it's a struggle to actually swing a certain way (and you're going to need to slash horizontally to proceed through the levels).  Whatever fun that is actually in it is ruined by the its flaws (Feels like I'm having more fun playing as Lloyd Irving than I am playing the actual game).  It feels like one of those games that should have just been another mode in one of the main game *resisting urge to get people to dare him to play "Death By Degrees"*.

I finished most of what I was playing. LOL Amazing what writer's block can do for you!

 So now I'm playing...

 FFVII

Yep, I'm replaying FFVII for the first time in almost... ...ten years. It's amazing all the stuff I forgot. LOL I've almost already beaten it though--just doing all that stuff to get a gold chocobo so I can get the last few materia and kick Ruby Weapon's ass.

Played and beat Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, albeit with some cheat codes. Evil, evil game due to stiff controls. Still somehow managed to enjoy myself on the most part though. Might try the GameBoy Castlevania games sometime soon.

By a stroke of luck, an Australian release of Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology was found via the website of a store that just opened up locally. My brother bought it and now we both play it in shifts using his PSP. I'm enjoying the game a heck of alot, to say the least. Story-wise, Kanonno just went missing after I escorted Stahn through the Hallowed Bastion; But I'd be further along if I wasn't such a questing-obsessed player, heh.

Currently very tempted to replay Secret of Evermore, one of my favourite action RPGs of the SNES era. Sure, alot of people didn't like that game, but I loved it. Heeheehee...

Haven't been playing a whole lot lately, but did get Zelda: Twilight Princess as a gift a few months back and finally finished it recently, overall, was impressed with how it was put together, though it could have certainly been better. (and that ending sucked, even if I DID see if I coming a mile away : P)

Though with Gamestapo's post-Christmas buy-two-get-one-free sale on used games, I stocked up on a few things. Now that I'm a less then proud owner of an Xbox, and poked around the used section to find a lot of games are dirt cheap. Picked up during two trips a few games I wanted to try:
-Xbox:
Doom3
Fable
Panzer Dragoon Orta
-PS2:
Disgaea 2
Raiden III
.Hack GU Vol1 (I was told it was better, we'll see> >i)
-DS:
FF3
Harvest Moon: Rune Factory
Hoshigami: RBE

Only played Harvest Moon: Rune factory. I like it so far, panning out better then I thought at the moment. Sadly, there are a severe lack of indicators - it's nearly impossible to tell how much money. feed, wood, etc you have at any given time. - And I really miss TV weather reports. Other than that it's standard Harvest Moon, there are all new people (no repeats like a lot of other HM games). Combat is hard, and more of an extra part of farming, not so much an alternative to it. It nets no money, really, but you can use fields inside of caves to grow year-round crops, and get animal products (eggs, wool) by befriending monsters like you would buy chickens and cows. It's not "well ironed" but it's fun, and still as addictive as it once was. - Oh, for a good point, you now have tons of backpack space for a change.

Just started Odin Sphere. Though I got no idea what going on in this first world/level/story. The gameplay is amazing, and I'm stuck just repeating the 2nd level for some powerleveling.

I finished Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations. I have to say of the four games released, this one is easily the big stand out with having the best storyline and cases. Even if it is somewhat lass humor based. Now I just need to wait for the English release of Apollo Justice.

Also Big Bang Beat 1st Impression. Its a doujin game which seems to be styled after the Guilty Gear series based on the game Big Bang Beat which if I recall correctly was a turn based strategy game. Hardcore Gaming 101 recently made a review on this if you want info.

I'm going to check out Absolute Zero's Tales of Phantasia patch as well. Its nice to be able to compare the two patches and see how each patch handle each different situation.

Also guys, Team Fortress 2 is easily the best multi player FPS by far. This and Portal were my intentions of getting the Orange Box anyway >_>

Oh yeah and also Contra 4. WayForward didn't mess up so much and its a fantastic game. Its no Contra Hard Corps however.

I'm an idiot.. with a gaint stack of unplayed games I'm actually replaying two games at the moment.

Xanadu Next for Windows.. an awesome Japanese action RPG from Falcom.

Riviera: The Promised Land for GBA. It's STILL one of the most unique games I've played in many years.

Combat DX9 Kinryu vs Xentex. A doujin fighter based off the hoihoi-san franchise. Similar to armored core and gundam federation vs zeon.
