I'm playing Pokemon Leaf Green and Tales of the Abyss at the moment. And I was playing Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but that's on hold for a little while.

Playing through FF9 and Tales of Eternia with my sister.
That's nice. I wish my sister(s) would play Tales games with me instead of just sitting there and watching. Only once did one of them help out... and was completely useless (took over ToP-PSX's Chester).

Only one game for me at the moment.
New Super Mario Bros.
The last time I had 2D platforming fun like this, it was on a SNES.

For Cless or anyone else who was fond of
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
, how is it, I mean, if I really have no specific interest in coutrooms in general? Looking for something for DS to pass the time between classes.

Hm... well, it depends. Are you looking for something with a story to it? Or are you really just looking for a time killer? Because, while I poured hours and hours into Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright), it was because I was drawn in by the story of it. It's a game that requires critical thinking (though not all that much) and putting pieces together. As far as the courtroom aspect of the game goes, even if you don't think it's going to be interesting, odds are VERY good that you'd find yourself quickly drawn in. I think it's the music, but whatever it is, it makes the courtroom by far the best part of the game. During the collection stages, you'll be yearning for another chance to get in court and show them who's boss.
All in all, I think it's a game that anyone can enjoy. But as I said, it depends what you're looking for. As far as time killing games go, there are probably better ones, but GS tells an amazing story and will certainly be able to keep you entertained for quite some time. I had no idea what I was getting into when I bought it, afterall, it's certainly unlike anything else I've ever played.

well that's kinda what I meant by time killer. I want to be interested in it and the story, just never was a fan of courtroom drama secifically. Was asking if the game and story were good enough in their own right.

I see. I'd certainly say that the game and the story are good. Just by the way the game is structured, the game MUST have a strong story in order to support it's style. It's an amazing game. It really is. I could not put it down, I wanted to find out what would happen next. In the same way, I'm really looking forward to playing the second game, which will be out here pretty soon.

Shweet, Melty Blood. Are you new to MB, if I may ask? Also, who do usually use or thinking about using? I don't really see a lot of people who play MB so I'm pleased to see another player.

I've been wanting to play it forever, but never foudn the time to aquire it, and my comp's crappy, so I waited for the ps2 version. I saw the anime adaptation type moon had for Tsukihime a while back, so I kinda know the gist of who's who mostly. So, as for the game, Yeah, completely new, but really liking it so far. So sorry to disappoint. maybe I'll get it for PC once my pc is fixed up handle it.
As for who, I'm liking a lot of the characters' move sets. Both Akiha's and Arcueido's forms are easy and fun to use right out of the box, but I'm thinking of getting the hang of Ciel and her wall moves. Reminds me of my old J.Tailban fav from Darkstalkers.

Ah. If you're going to use Akiha and Arcueid, you should possibly consider their other forms as they are rated higher (although some people still use their normal forms). Ciel is a good choice too, but I don't really see her being used much in match vids I've seen. She has a decent range game (Nrvnqsr is the king of range, he's also a good beginner character and is used quite a bit), but otherwise I don't see too much people use her.

A vid showing off a bit of what Ciel can do, plus her infinite (which isn't really good)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uO1XbALxFGs
Example of why Red Arc is high tier. Her combos aren't too damaging, yet they have baffling connectability and priority. I personally use her.

Example of Akiha Vermillion. She has a real good rushdown game due to her double airdash and her high damage without meter, but she takes damage like crazy. Big gamble to use her.

Well it was their higher forms I use mostly, but I hadn't spent enough time with Arcueid's lower form (I liked how the pink claw slashes could be chained) ad just about zero with Akiha's, so I didn;t want to write them off until I tested them out.
Red Arc is my most used chioce so far, but she seems to easy to use so far. Chaos I DO like, but I like playing in your face style with fast characters like Akiha, regardless of how fragile they are, so the cheap slow Nrvnqsr had to go. It's just my thing, as irrational as it seems.
My only girp with Akiha is her moves lack variety. : /
So Red Arc is my main for now, but Ceil and Akiha are my focus for getting better.
Though, win or lose, this game is a lot of fun...
Thanks for the tips and digging up those vids, BTW

Anytime.
From what you were saying, it seemed like you were using regular Arc and Akiha. Most people would say Red Arc/Warc and V-Akiha to talk about the other forms.
Yeah, my friend likes Nero (Nrvnqsr) because he's one of the few characters that
aren't
of the in-your-face play style variety. My friend doesn't actually play because the abundance of rushdown characters is drives him away. You'll notice that almost everyone is a rushdown character as you watch match videos. Nero is more indirect. Kouma and Satsuki are more of the grappler types, though they still have more of a rushdown than Nero, but are less of a rushdown character than the others.
Warakia is more about power in less hits, but still somewhat rushdown. Then there's Neco-Arc (secret character) who has bad rushdown game and has to rely on her specials... don't bother using her seriously.
Anyway, Red Arc is a good character to start using. Easy enough for beginners, but has good tactics for experts. Other characters to consider are Sion (regular) (also has a good, simple infinite, used mostly to run down the clock) and Mech-Hisui.
Hopefully you can find some competition though, because that's where the fun will lie after you've blasted through the computer countless times.

My current list is like this:
Xanadu NEXT for PC. Very fun Japanese Diablo style game.
Tales of the Abyss.. though unless it picks up soon I'm done with it. I didn't buy it to watch it.
Dragon Quest Rocket Slime. BEST DS multi-player game!
Coming Up:
Gurumin for PC. I want to beat the other difficulty levels.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. Dropped this once I started Rocket Slime, need to go back to it!
Ape Escapé 3. My girlfriend bought this for me a long time ago and I haven't started it yet!

VP Lenneth
- Grr, I still haven't finished this, I blame my determination to level grind as much as possible. I'm currently on the final chapter, I've had the scene that guarantees the A ending, I just need to finish Palace of the Dragon and Celestial Castle before paying a visit to Weeping Lilly Meadow.
What's worse is I've had what
should
have been just a quick glance at
VP Silmeria
(I basically ended up beating the first boss) and now I'm
itching
to play more. Having said that, I'm keen to move onto
TotA
(US) next once I'm finished with
VPL
, partially to give VP a bit of a break.
Oh, and I just ordered
Disgaea 2
so, all in all, there goes my social life (again)

See, that's why I complain about long games and long cut-scenes.
It's hell having a full time job and mostly friend-filled weekends with so many good games coming out (not to mention I'm sure everyone has a backlog of some kind).
