Yup, the gaming deluge has indeed begun, I think I may postpone buying a Wii until next year just because there'll be so much else for me to get on with. I've even managed to refrain from buying Yakuza, Okami and Disgaea 2 (for the time being
), I'm actually kind of proud of myself for doing so, being the games hoarder that I am
Currently playing/recently finished:
Valkyrie Profile Lenneth
- this ended up on the backburner since my DS Lite arrived. However, I intend to get it done and dusted over the next two weeks (as it's now highly unlikely that I'll be finishing it before
VP Silmeria
is out).
MegaMan ZX
- playing as Aile, great so far but I may put it on hold until I finish some of the other games first.
Metroid Prime Hunters
- I probably won't be playing this one for much longer as I'm not really enjoying it that much, partially due to it feeling a bit too unwieldy with the stylus during more intense battles (DS Lites lack the thumb strap accessory which is apparently far better).
Spyro the Dragon
(PS1) series - my sister wants me to help her finish them, I'm also getting strangely hooked on them in the process :/
Gyakuten Saiban 3
(translated 1st case) - this is all I've played of the series so far but I really enjoyed it, I'm possibly spoiling things for myself but it's at least convinced me to buy
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Here's what I'm playing at the moment:
Gurumin (PC):
I'm going through all the difficulty levels, I'm at "Pleasure" which is insane. This is an insanely fun little action adventure game from Falcom, creator of the Ys series (they list the game as an Action RPG but there's no real RPG stuff in it).
Pokémon: Mystery Dungeon (DS):
I'm a Mystery Dungeon whore. FINALLY glad to have a portable English game.
Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime (DS):
This game is awesome.. I'm hooked on it in a bad way. The tank battles are almost a separate game in itself (and one of the tanks is named "Chrono Twigger"). Another game that everyone is calling an RPG where it has no real RPG qualities to it.. oh well, silly internet.
I've also got three games I've been meaning to give some REAL play time to but have faltered at each time I go to them:
Popful Mail (PC-Engine and Sega CD)
,
Madou Monogatari (PC-Engine and Sega Genesis)
and
Wander Wonder (PC)
. All of them are pretty short but I seem to get distracted whenever I try to play them. Oh and I was really trying to find a walkthrough for Wander Wonder in case I got stuck and could guess my way out of it.. I finally found one and printed up the crappy Google translation of it.. but that should be good enough in case my even crappier Japanese knowledge fails me (which it will).

Gunbird 1 & 2
I think you all know but now, but I LOVE bullet hell shooters
Hitogata Happa (Again)
Yup, love bullet hell shooters.
Disgaea
With a PAL release of it's sequel lurking around the corner I thought I'd play it again, I've pretty much done everything except kill Uber Prinny Baal and get the ultimate weapons to max level.
Xenogears (Still)
Disc 2was fine for me, I don't mind tons of cutscenes as long as their interesting. Anyway just gotta kill Deus and I've won the game

Bah, Gunbird is a baby bullet hell game. *wink*
Have you played any of the recent Cave games? Espgaluda is probably my favorite shooter of all time (and I've played a hell of lot of them). Dodonpachi: Daioujou and Mushi Hime-sama are both pretty good.. though I personally didn't like Ibara much, it's too damn hard to see bullets in that game.
Both Castle Shikigama games are available in the US for under $10 each (the first one is called something like "Elite Light Force 2" and has a picture of Charlie's Angels (?) on it). But they're both pretty damn good and the grazing system is really addictive.

I haven't played much Cave games but I have played Dodonpuchi, its fun though it I can't seem to get the music working
Gunbird isn't really that hard I agree, but in Gunbird 2 it gets a bit tricky towards the end at least. I might try a higher difficulty and see what thats like.
Also the final boss in Hitogata Happa pretty much defines bullet hell O_o
I would put more screens of her other attacks but I'm slack

Ah well, here we go (such a common topic.)
I completed
Vanguard Bandits
a week or so ago, which I had a file going which was about two-thirds of the way through. It's an awesome Tactical RPG, much akin to a
Fire Emblem
-styled Gundam TRPG. It's really entertaining, and if you train your characters right, not too damn difficult. Plus there are three story branches and therefore multiple endings and good replay value; so I'll probably play it again sometime this year.
I've still got to finish the ending segments of
Fire Emblem VI: The Sealed Sword
, and
Riviera: The Promised Land
. I've nearly completed both, but I keep getting sidetracked.
Of a similar nature, I have had two games going in
Bahamut Lagoon
and
Tales of Phantasia
(both Snes, naturally.) which are roughly half-way through each. I'm trying to savour them, as they are really good and I have a problem with finishing off decent games. May they never end!
On the PSOne, I've taken a bit of a break from
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
. As good as that game is, I can never stick to just one RPG (or five for that matter.) I've started a new game in
Saiyuki: Journey West
, which is one of my most favoured TRPGs. It's very much like
Vandal Hearts II
and
Final Fantasy Tactics
combined (I suppose.) Very fun and easy to play. I did have a file which was half-way through, though I haven't touched it in ages and I wanted to start over as it's always a treat going through the ropes again. Awesome stuff.
I have no Xbox games going at the moment. As for the PS2, I occasionally let out my rage in
Dynasty Warriors 5
, since I am done with V Empires. Nothing else to report at present. Keep fighting the good fight everyone.

Fire Emblem 7 is the one with Eliwood right? Lunar is a good game, I beat that. I liked the battle system in that game.
Anyway, I'm playing Disgaea since I bought the second one and never played the first one. I'm also playing Megaman ZX but it's making me angry because I hate walking everywhere.

Finally onto getting some quality time with
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
, US version. The greatest jRPG ever gets even better in a language you actually understand! Anyone who likes deep RPG gameplay owes it to themselves to play this masterpiece. It's really insane how much the battle system evolved over the last one-- It's almost completely different, yet the core is still there...
Nearly everything about this game is good. Gameplay is the best of the best. Visuals are among the best on the PS2 both technically and artistically, and even manages an extremely fluid 60 frames per second, to boot. Music fits the mood of the game well. An atmospheric exerience to be sure. Can't fairly rate the story, I'm heavily biased because it's a prequel to the first game, even though I'm not very far. English voice acting is absolutely top notch.
You guys better get this game. Yes, you better.
oh. I played
Okami
for about a whole 30 minutes. But man, VP2 takes top priority from everything else.
The backlog being created by this season sucks. sucks. sucks.... sucks. Being in the mood to hack ToD2 right now isn't helping, either.

Nice one. I've got to make an import order from the U.S soon enough, to which Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria will naturally have a place. I haven't played the first game for quite a while though, but then again since Silmeria is a prequel I suppose that fact is a moot point.) Worry not, Cless; take it easy and relish in the enjoyment of a few new RPG titles. I know I'll be wasting too much time with Silmeria, Disgaea 2 and Final Fantasy XII when I get my hands on them, so there's not much we can do about that.
I knew someone around here was a VP fan; I just couldn't remember who exactly that was.

When you come to think about it I think we're all Valkyrie Profile fans
I think my plans will be the same as yours though, just import VP2. Since it doesn't look like it'll be coming down here in PAL format.

VP2 is so awesome. I've finally reached where I left off in the import. I didn't understand the skill system while playing the import, but now I do and it helps a lot.
Those of you who don't have this on your buy list are seriously missing out.
I can't wait to get further. The story is supposed to turn into a massive joygasm for VP1 fans later on...

Right now I'm playing Ys: The Oath in Felghana for the PC. I love Ys games, especially the new ones. Blazing fast action with amazing soundtracks and they're over in ten hours. They actually just announced a new game to come out in December, but I'm trying to decide to buy it right away or wait a year to get it at a more reasonable price like I did with Felghana.
VP2 might be on my radar if I would actually finally get around to playing the original.

Just picked up
Okami
recently. Wasn't interested in it at first, but after a friend talked so much about it, I decided to try it out. Amazingly wonderful. The art style and music is a great blend of ancient Japanese brush art and ancient instruments. The presentation is top-notch and the art style will wow you consistantly as the game goes on. Just an amazing game, you won't be disappointed.

I'm playing VP2, Okami, Abyss, and Disgaea. Mostly Abyss though because the desire to fight Reid, Mint, Philia, and, hopefully, Nanaly is really propelling me through this game.
