So, what exactly is so bad about Dragoneers Aria? It looked okay to me.

Battles are too long and hard for the average reviewer. Some of them can take as long as ten minutes to finish - but three to five battles in a new area are enough to level everyone up, and the game is designed in such a way that avoiding/escaping battles is really easy.

Oh, and the story lacks originality... yeah, that's something that totally ruins the game. So what if the characters are likable and the execution of the plot is good enough? A game needs to be filed with original ideas to be good. Just look at the Tales series. Roll Eyes

I've gone back to playing Devil Survivor. Figured I'd give SRW a rest for a while. Heh, I'm only on Day 1. I'm so kind of...paranoid about making sure I'm up-to-date with levels and skills and stuff that I'll probably end up taking twice as much time to beat the game. Well, I guess that's my fault for being a veteran. The only reason I never beat Shin Megaten 2 was because my savefile glitched up and set my TNL experience to some insane spillover string in the millions. I'd go back to it, but the amount of time it took to just GET there isn't worth replicating, even with frameskipping.

Speaking of Dragoneer's Aria, I don't even remember if I still have my save or not. I remember the voice-work being pretty good (I'm a sucker for anyone voiced by Stephanie Sheh), and I did like the game, but it took FOREVER to get anything done.

I was playing Super Robot Wars W today. It's my fourth run and I'm so powerful I feel like a WoW griefer, except I'm killing evil things instead of innocent people who just want to get to level 2.

I've got Cross Edge in my PS3, but I feel like I'd rather play FF9. I found out that the stupidly-hard boss in the Iifa Tree (in disc 2) can be oneshotted with an Elixir or the Life spell. I had no idea. For NINE YEARS I thought you had to defeat him legitimately. Yes, FF9 came out nine years ago this month. Let us celebrate...by doing the monkey!

Heh. I don't remember that boss at all, but it works that way with all undead enemies in most FFs: healing has the opposite effect in them. Use either a revive spell or an item that heals all HP in them and... voilá. I found that out while fighting Vinzer Deling in FF8.

On-topic: playing Super Metroid (SNES) on my PSP. Once I'm done with it, I'll play the remaining GBA and NDS Castlevanias, Megaman Zero/ZX and Cave Story. There's a reason I'm playing so many Metroidvania-style games all at once, but it's a secret... for now. It should be pretty obvious, though.

Don't forget about Symphony of the Night! Tongue
Still playing Persona 4. And I hope that NISA will release DLC of some dude called Ash for Disgaea 2 PSP. Who is Ash? Is he a protagonist?

Beat it less than a month ago. In fact, I do it regularly. I think the only non-arcade games I've beaten more times than SotN are first Shadow Hearts and Donkey Kong Country 2.

Back to the Snow Queen Quest in Persona for me...

*dies when so close to the boss by demons who spam Eiha and Marin Karin*

Me: Oh...my...God. You little *beep* *beep* *beep*! What the hell?!

Jesus Christ! I hate the encounter rate in this game. Ever since I played Tales of Rebirth, a hatred for these damned random encounters was born within me. Now, Persona has taken that to an all-time high! It doesn't help that Persona is one of those RPGs where it's difficult to escape or that the tower I was in offers NO save points.

...Maybe I'll go play Tales of Vesperia(provided I gain the motivation to play it). I want Valkyria Chronicles(and it's sequel) and .hack//Link.

EDIT: Advanced more in Disgaea 2 Axel's Side. I must say this: I knew Asagi was coming the minute I heard Makai Wars! I just knew it!

I recently started playing Grandia on the Playstation for the first time, even though I've had it for years.  All I can say is "effing fantastic!"

It reminds me so much of the Lunar games (and that's a good thing!)  I wish more RPGs would take the cute and innocent approach.  The emo heroes and dark storylines get old after awhile.

Anyway, I'm loving it so far.  Just saved my girl, Feena, from marrying a dork and now we're off to make romantic noises in the ruins Wink  Wish us luck!!!

Sue has the most annoying voice in RPG history....

Let's see what I've been up to.  Well, I'm still on my Xbox 360 most of the time.

I'm playing Blazblue again.  Just beating Arcade mode with everyone and squeezing online matches.  Still barely touched Story mode, though.

Also back into Tekken 6.  Finally, Namco fixed the online.  It's actually playable and I actually had good matches!  At least it'll make for a distraction for me now.

And, calling myself a Rock Band junkie, I can't believe I'm playing a lot of Guitar Hero 5.  I went through Career Mode, still going for a few achievements, and still haven't sent it back to Gamefly yet.  Apparently, I'm done committing heresy in this game but still playing it that I'm doing some online stuff before sending it back (Maybe next week).

I was playing Tales of Vesperia until the 360 overheated and I had to unplug the thing since it wouldn't respond to the power button. It's ironic how the thing overheated when I was in the desert.

Back to Disgaea 2, I guess.

Oh what?  It can overheat, too???  Yet another reason why I will never own an XBox!

Meh.  As far as I'm concern, I trust Sony as much as I trust Microsoft...I don't really trust them.

Besides, the PS3's common cause of the YLOD is the same as the 360's RROD (motherboard's soldering overheating).  Heck, Carn even confirmed it for me (and he seems to know stuff that most people wouldn't, i.e. stuff about the less talked about PS3's YLOD).  Getting slapped in the face with it when I visit a certain site because the webmaster was so irate (and I really mean irate) over his busted PS3, and after looking sources linked up, saying it's significant enough, even with the statistics being higher on 360 even got me looking more into it and lead me to get some confirmation from Carn.  (Yes, those last two links are from the official US Playstation forums).

Honestly, I only trust Nintendo to not have shoddy hardware.  At least they are able to keep their reputation in not screwing us over with their hardware.

Then again, this is probably going to remind me why I feel like a cynical, jaded gamer.  I get the feeling this is going to go through one ear and out the other because I'm bringing up stuff most people will not acknowledge.

On the bright side, the 360 is fine. I got the two ring error. I just need to stop playing ToV in long intervals...so I'm back to playing Tales of the Abyss.

For a title made for an anniversary for it's series, Abyss REALLY bores the hell outta me.
