oh certainly, I understand that, and I agree that it deserves a remake.

now, back to on-topic, started playing SRW@3 again along with Z.

Mainly for the use of one particular character...

Well I'm currently leveling up for the final boss in Legend of Heroes II for the psp.  I'm at level 34, and I tried to do a speed run through the final dungeon without saving and he creamed me in 3 rounds.  It kinda sucks because the enemies available to me doesn't give me very much exp.

Because of all the Xenogears talk recently I've started my 5th playthrough of the game. Just beaten Redrum who for whatever didn't use his Bloody Rain attack at all =/

Also still playing Disgaea 3. Leveling up is easy but getting mana isn't. I'm trying to complete the Diez Gentlemen series of battles but cannot move to next one simply because I lack the mana in order to do so. Once I finish it though I'll get the item needed for duping which means I can get a powerful fist to clear HoO4 with one attack.

Also the entire series of Phoenix Wright again. Enjoyable storylines and characters. Obviously not intended for those looking for actual gameplay.

Besides, anything was better than going through Krelian's lab again.  That goddamn maze!

I don't really find myself getting lost in that part, but its very long and very painful. The huge story events that unfold after make it worthwhile at least!

I love VN too (even OMGWTFOTL), but in a VN I expect that kind of gameplay.  In a JRPG I expect the ability to do something!

From what I know Xenosaga is like that too. A game I've been wanting to play for a long time. I should get those Swapmagic disks soon so I can play that plus understand all the rave of Tales of Abyss. I got a slim so I can do that paper and straw trick which was posted a few pages back.

I bought three games recently. No More Heroes, Disgaea 1 and repurchased Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (my original disc is scratched beyond repair). Right now I've only been playing wind waker even though I've beat 11 times. You know what else? After I beat it for the 12th time I'm gonna beat it again just so I can play with links "pajamas". This game just sucks me in and I have so much fun playing it. I don't know why I haven't gotten tired of it yet. I've started No More Heroes and Disgaea but have neglected them for The Wind Waker. No more heroes combat is really fun with the motion controls but The camera is HORRENDOUS! Also the controls for driving your super cool bike feel completely broken. Disgaea is very tough for me to get into right now, mostly because my eyes need a rest from trying to make out what's what in the blurry mess on the screen (sound quality is bad too). I always hate when people make comments like "OMG PS! GRAFIX!" but I wouldn't be surprised if this could be ported to the psx perfectly. I hope I can strain my eyes long enough so that I get to the part of the game where it gets really fun to give up my videophile tendencies.

Disgaea 3 still. I rejoicing since today I got a Legendary Lovely Cupid and Apocalypse. Once I level up enough I'll be able to get the ultimate bow and axe. I'm excited!

Also got Kirby Super Star Ultra which is a remake of Kirby Super Star. The new bosses are pretty hard =/

Eh? I found the music in Disgaea to be among the best of all of NIS releases (Bested only by Phantom Brave). If you're talking about the sound effects though, I can agree they sound really bad.

Yeah, I wasn't really talking about the music being bad. The voice acting for the japanese and english tracks are both very lackluster. The english track sounds more cheesy but the japanese tracks voice acting isn't very good either. Although I'm only past the tutorial so either could get better from here.

Just finished Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology so I'm going to play Crisis Core until Tales of Eternia for the psp comes in.  I had to import it from Europe, which is really annoying when you don't have Paypal....

Starting off short:

Without actually preordering the game, I got myself into the Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer beta.  Since this one ended up going to World War II for its setting again (i.e. what became the most overused setting in an FPS), I didn't show interest in it.  However, I decided to try to get into the beta via registering on the site.  I managed to get in.  Pretty much, it's what I expected.  Call of Duty 4 going back to World War II and the Juggernaut perk still annoys the heck out of people.  There's only a few difference I noticed from playing but it's the same mechanics.  It's not bad but it doesn't look like it's replacing Call of Duty 4 for me.  Besides, even if I was interested in it, another installment of the RPG obsession, even a spin off, will overrule me getting this FPS.

While I'm still talking about RPG, there's a big one here.

Remember the topic I made asking all of you, as part of my "little fun," if I should play Too Human?  Yes, I'm actually playing Too Human (Xbox 360).

I better be prepared for this since talking about this game is probably going to be ugly (as if it wasn't already all over different places *coughG4coughKevincoughPereira*  *coughIGNcoughMattcoughCasamassina*).  I'll be giving my cliff note version of my impression so far.  Okay, here it goes.

The story is an attempt of mixing cybernetic with Norse Mythology (best way to describe it).  If that sounds like a crazy idea that wouldn't work, well, currently, it doesn't.  To start, it didn't introduce the game's story properly.  I remember how I sat through the opening video before the title screen.  Pretty long and did a bad job introducing it.  Not to mention, the narrative feels so thin.  I'm not sure if my lack of knowledge of Norse Mythology is to blame but then again, it didn't stop me from enjoying Valkyrie Profile.  Speaking of that, at this rate, the only way this game could get interesting is if Lenneth and Silmeria ends up appearing with sci fi guns a blazin', taking out those enemy machines.  (Yes, I am sorry for creating more messed up images in your heads.)

For gameplay, the pacing is awful.  You go through large areas and takes some time to get into combat.  Even then, combat does feel pretty underwhelming.  Shooting leaves a lot to desire.  Devil May Cry manage to do that fine with its action, where the shooting was at an appropriate speed and satisfying when using it to juggle the enemy.  Here, it's meh.  Melee is a little better.  Attacks are all done with the right stick and comes out as having to do and sliding to different enemies to attack has its moments.  There are times the combat does get engaging but due to problems with it, particularly with lock on, that any moment of combat getting its groove comes and goes.  There are times I pushed the right stick to attack a certain enemy but goes to a different one than intended.  Oh, and the enemies are so unbalanced that you're going to die a lot...and there's an annoyance for dying.  You get a scene where a valkyrie comes and takes your body to Vahalla and then you're back into fighting.  Only thing is...you can't skip it.  Yeah, that's your punishment for dying.  It may not be long but it's annoying since you see it a bunch of times and you just want to get back to fighting.

So, it shows it has a weak story and meh gameplay.  It's looking so far to be a pretty "meh" game.  I'm actually going to play through the entire game.  Maybe it won't end up on my "Overhyped hall of shame."  Please?

Im actually replaying that myself in eager anticipation for RM 2. It seems a lot more fun than I remember it...too bad the story isn't anything spectacular, or I could've overlooked the slow paced battle system somewhat.

I had to import it from Europe, which is really annoying when you don't have Paypal....

Wait, so is that game in english?( I mightve asked this already.... Undecided) If so....then awesome. I cant stand the ISO of this one, just cuz its so long....

Yeah ToE PSP was released in PAL territories in English. I haven't exactly played the PSP version yet but the translation should be the same as the PS1 version right down to the horrible voice acting.

Castlevania Order of Ecclesia which is decent like every other NDS Castlevania so far. I have yet to see this difficulty everyone is clambering about though.

Also Fate/Stay Night which I would post the boxart for if it weren't for the fact I already mentioned it =/
The English patch for it was released recently so now I can finish Heaven's Feel... in English. I don't get much opportunity to actually play it though since my PC is pretty much in a very visible position and HF has the most H-Scenes =(

I finished Too Human...and it was a highly flawed game.  It couldn't decide if it wanted to be too boring or too frustrating.  Combat left me highly unsatisfied, even when it actually decided to get in its groove, but the enemies were highly overpowered than they should be and the story was bad.  Yeah, I ended up not liking this technically mediocre game.

On another note, I'm playing No More Heroes (Wii).  I barely started and I can tell you that it's insane!  Considering it's a Suda 51 game, the same one that brought us Killer 7, I shouldn't be surprised over how crazy it is.  I'll tell you right now that before I played the game, I watched a video placed near the end of the game of a joke I couldn't help but get into.  It was a joke made about how if they added more of the back story, the game would get delayed and has to be called, "No More Heroes Forever."  Hey, Duke Nukem, they made fun of you!

Oh yeah, I found out that Viewtiful Joe is appearing as a fighter in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom.  It's nice to know that Capcom hasn't forgotten about him.  I mean, it was enough that I just have to replay Viewtiful Joe and its sequel again.  Viewtiful Joe is still great stuff.  Yeah, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom got me playing it again (nevermind getting me to watch Casshern SINS and Yatterman to know what they're like but that's getting off topic).

Well, Casshern SINS has little to do with the original series, which is the incarnation of Casshern that appears in TvC, at least according to the abstracts of the original series' story that I've seen. Original Casshern was apparently about a human that volunteered to be turned into a robot to stop berserk robots, somewhat like how Mega Man volunteered to be turned from a house robot to a fighting robot. It actually sort of makes it sound like Mega Man stole the idea since Casshern came out in the 70s before Mega Man.

Looks to me that new Yatterman and Casshern SINS (dunno how many more there are) are to tie in with TvC as a revival of classic Tatsunoko franchises.
