ToS is such a long, long game. Just finished the Meltokio sewers, and there's still a lot more left.
Yeah, I noticed that too while playing. Currently at....
where you fight Kratos to obtain Origin
It just seems....longer than I even remember.....thank goodness for that awesome fun battle system
I even just figured out how to aeriel cast, despite having played thru 5~7 times.
However, had to put TOS on hold, myself...Ive got too many games to complete. Im definitely
not
finishing em all this summer.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2
and
Etrian Odyssey 2
. Fantastic games. Now that I've beaten Tactics A2 I'm going through EO2 mainly. I'm loving it so far.

Going on a Metal Gear spree. All the hype for MGS4 got me interested in the series. I beat
The Twin Snakes
a few weeks ago and now I'm playing
MGS2:Substance
. I'm playing the PS1 version of MGS on the side for kicks. Planning on playing the MSX games on the second Subsistence disc before actually playing
MGS3:Subsistence
.
I also recently picked up
Killer7
on a whim. I was weirded out at first, but I'm starting to like it.

Also jumping onto the replaying Symphonia bandwagon. >_>
I haven't played it in 4 years as well, though I did play the PS2 version of it recently....wow, the GCN version's much more fluid.
...lol, loading my old save files, it's obvious to see I didn't know how to link Lv1->Lv2->Lv3 since all my skills were just equipped with Lv3 skills. >_>

The dialogue is far, far cheesier than I thought it was four years ago. Especially when it comes to Lloyd and Colette.
Yeah, the voice acting's delivery's a bit off sometimes too, which makes it even more cheesy sounding....reminds me that they really improved since then.

which reminds me,
Final Fantasy X
seems to suffer from the same issue. the voice acting is really rather good in parts, and somehow off/cheesy/awkward in others. the obvious lack of lip-syncing in some scenes doesn't help. luckily,
Final Fantasy XII
doesn't seem to have these issues and is an A+ localization (in my book, anyway...).
also,
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2
is really annoying at the beginning for confining you to jobs/abilities that suck. (where is my human fighter job?) of course, once you get air render/moogle lance/fire whip to add to your ranged arsenal, things quickly become ridiculous.

Yeah start of the game in FFTA2 is painful. It gets easier once you set up your jobs and abilities. I tend to rush through the first half though just so I can get a Gria as quickly as possible.

Heh, I started doing the same thing recently, as well. I finally got around to beating MGS1 for the PS1 (borrowed it from a friend), then got the Essential Collection (MGS1, MGS 2 Substance, and MGS3 Subsistence (disc 1)). Beat MGS2, now I'm 10+ hours in MGS3. Really like the new, REAL camera.
BTW, so Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 (MSX2 version) are on disc 2 of Subsistence? Darn, I only got disc 1 with the collection.
My piece of advice: Beat MGS3, then the MSX games. MGS3 is the prequel to all of them, and the MSX games make more sense after you play MGS3, not the other way around.
On the side, I've been playing Team Fortress Classic, and the Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life. RE Outbreak online lives on!

I finished
Apollo Justice
, its a good game but the last cases have plenty of holes but otherwise it does the series quite well.
Also replaying
Star Ocean 2
in hype of the SO1 remake coming out soon. Its fantastic game, though the voice acting (Both Japanese and English) need a lot of work.
Also for some reason I have a strange urge to replay
Final Fantasy 10
. Its got a very flawed storyline and levelling system is not my taste but its a decent game otherwise.

SimCity 3000 Unlimited!
It's a series I've loved for a long time. I'm playing under Windows 2000 in VirtualBox (Kubuntu acting as host). I've also ordered SimCity 4: Deluxe Edition now, which may prove interesting.

SimCity 4 has arrived now, but I'm not done with SimCity 3000 just yet. I've had a
little accident
, which may require some fixing...

Beat Grandia III some days ago and.....wow. Im horribly saddened cuz it was so much fun, but ended so...abruptly, I guess.
Currently hooked on TODDC (how the hell do you beat Rank 6 and Barbatos?!?!)
There's really not much replayability in Grandia III and after the final cutscene (which left a few holes) it just sends you right back to the title screen
The good news, I want to play Xtreme again as well as Grandia 2

I was away from home for a couple days so I put a few hours into
Etrian Odyssey II
. Almost through 3F. So far this game's harder than EO1. Or maybe it's the way it's been rebalanced and the game requires you to completely rethink your skill distribution strategies. My party's a Landsnecht, a Protector, a Ronin, a War Magus and a Gunner.
So far I think I'm focusing too much on making my War Magus into something of a strong Medic than anything else. I dunno if there's a TP cost discrepancy between War Maguses and plain Medics, but mah gawd Salve spells are expensive now. I was hoping that raising the levels would decrease TP cost, but... nope. Just one level raises Salve 1's TP cost 3 points... ouch.
And I died at least five or six times against the FOEs on 2F. Largely happened when exploring the areas for the first time because the rooms they're in are small and not easy to pick up on their scripted path just then...

Don't say that. I've just gotten the 21st airplane and I'm praying that the first disc doesn't end too soon. >_>
Just out of curiosity, how long did you take to beat it? And if you remember, how long to get to disc 2?
I'm loving GIII, but the lack of world map exploration and sidequests is driving me insane. I never cared about it on the first Grandia, but now that a game in the series has a _real_ world map it seems such a waste not being able to walk around it on foot...

No it is harder, the first boss is really nasty and makes Fenrir seem like a joke. The Helldras in the 3rd stratum are capable of wiping out you entire team before they get to act.
I don't mind that though bit considering how much harder the enemies and bosses are, I'm a bit scared of what the super bosses will be like.

Healing spells in general seem to feel so expensive now. Frequently do I have to rush back to the inn to get my Medic's TP back. Whereas in EO1 my Medic would have plenty of TP to spare =(
