You're a wise man, Cless.
Speaking of
A
T
LUS
, I picked up
Odin Sphere
yesterday... to start Mercedes' storyline. Now I see why people hate to play as her. =__=
Also, I'm 8 hours into
Legaia 2: Duel Saga
. Dunno why, but even though this game has a pathetic story and uninteresting characters (with a few exceptions), I'm still enjoying it quite a bit. Probably the battle system, brilliant dungeon design (something most PS2 RPGs severely lack) and insane amount of sidequests / optional things to do.

Continuing the

talk, got myself Persona 3 and La Pucelle Tactics. Have yet to play much of LPT, but P3 is addicting... Definitely a dungeon crawler done right.

Izuna? How is that game? System? Gameplay?
Well, it's not AAA-grade material or anything. I'd give it a 3/5 rating... nothing close to amazing or groundbreaking, but still fun and playable.
It's a roguelike dungeon crawler RPG, though a lot more forgiving than traditional roguelikes. If you die you lose all the items, equipment and money you are carrying. Sounds frustrating but it's not all that bad. But there are ways to preserve equipment at death though. But the game is also forgiving enough to provide you items to exit a dungeon if things look hopeless, and you'll keep everything.
Dungeon floors are randomly generated and so is the loot.

LPT was sadly the only NIS PS2 SRPG I couldn't get into (then again, I haven't played Soul Nomad yet). Maybe I wasn't playing it right, but I found the dark portal system to be way too much of a chore to manipulate and make useful... and fun. I really wanted to like it though (Prier is awesome).

Same here. The story was too boring for me, and that tutorial made me sleep =__= I lost all my motivation after that. Even though I liked the system quite a bit, I just couldn't squeeze any fun out of it.
Also, I didn't like P3 that much either, even though Megaten is my favorite RPG series. lol, they should have made a dating sim game without the RPG elements. Tartarus is so tedious >_> and Soejima's character designs aren't as good as they were in his Stella Deus days.

Mario Kart Wii
.
Goshi is playing as Dry Bones on the Nanobike.
Reaches 1st place.
Gets blown up by Blue Spiny Shell and drops to 4th.
Upon recovering is promptly bombarded by Red Shells and drops to 8th.
Continues racing but gets flattened by someone using a Mega Mushroom and drops to 10th.
Attempts to continue racing but is hit by a POW Block before reaching ramp and drops to 12th.
Gets the Thundercloud powerup.
I hate powerups so much...

You're just reminded me about something.
I mention Mario Kart Wii's criticism of its rubber band AI to a friend. When ask what I mean, I describe it as a random deus ex machina, then needed to describe what you said. After that, he said, "It's like Baby Park!" He seems to think that's the only thing that matters in Mario Kart. That's why he loves Baby Park...a course I despise so much for how shallow it is. Pretty much, good course design=what you describe (Come on! How is a small oval in the style of a track and field track the epitome of course design?). I'll stop there before I get into a ranting mode.
At least you're not shallow about it and you know what? It's refreshing to hear something that, and I like Mario Kart (well, except Super Mario Kart). I guess I'm sick of hearing my friend proclaim how Baby Park is the greatest course ever because of what you describe. I actually never want to see or hear that course again but realistically, that isn't happening.
Well, getting back to the topic.
I'm playing
Devil May Cry 4
(Xbox 360). It kicks butt! I'm playing on Devil Hunter mode and it is tough. Let's see how long it takes for me to do what the game over tells me to do..."Abandon all hope!" I actually intend to beat it, though.

It's not that the story sucks... it's just that one of the other characters you get to play with is a bit... huh... hard to get used to. ._.
The game is still as great as in the beginning even during this part, though. Including the story.

I'm playing
Bioshock
(Xbox 360). This game is so amazing that if I'm not playing it, I'm asking myself, "Why aren't you playing Bioshock?!" I don't even know how to talk about it? The atmosphere, the story where you want to know what the deal is in Rapture, or that it's an engaging game overall. Yes, go play Bioshock!
Also, I've gone back to playing
Ninja Gaiden
(Xbox) again. Yeah, the new one's out and I'm trying to squeeze it into my gaming schedule but I figure since I want to be able to have access to the NES Ninja Gaiden games through my Xbox 360, go ahead and play it again using the system. This is due to even if I finally get that Xport for the 360 that I want with one reason is to get my Xbox saves on my original Xbox onto my Xbox 360, I can't copy the Ninja Gaiden files. Well, it's still a blast so I'm not complaining.
