I beat Demon's Souls. The boss of level 1-4 just seemed to be too much for me so I went the cheap way out to beat him (use Thief's Ring, stay a bit behind him, and just use Poison Cloud for a half hour or so, using it when its effectiveness runs out. He'll never engage you, so it's a cheesy, easy win). I played to win, not stick close to any sort of hardcore class build.

Now onto new game+. You get to start with everything you had in your previous game; all items, levels, souls, etc. Sounds like new game+ should be a breeze, right? Not exactly. Demon's Souls isn't that kind of game. Your new game+ celebration is...a celebration in hell. Even with everything from the last game, New Game+ is harder. Hope you've mastered dodging, because enemies hit twice as hard or harder, and have around twice the HP. The only thing in your favor is that the enemies' soul drops are quintupled.

Some parts aren't too bad with previous knowledge, but I know I'm going to be hating life in world 5. Ugh...though the game is generally fair, and it's your fault if you die, I would honestly consider world 5-2 as quite unfair.

Tried Tales of VS on a friend's psp. Expectantly not terribly fun. Having to buy all the skills and some of the better equipment being real expensive makes it feel like lots of terrible grinding, which I guess sort of works for portable tales, maybe, but not really.

The movement feels like crap and the cpu players run away a lot, making it annoying to land a hit. Even tagging them with a projectile arte is useless since they'll just keep running after getting hit and you don't gain any ground on them, unless you tagged them with it while they were airborne which will then knockdown.

Most of the time they run all the way across the arena, running down the clock since running speeds for everyone are more or less equal at the start, for an item that spawned and you would not have known was there otherwise.

It's sort of cool and shit seeing a lot of the characters interacting (especially with voice acting) in the story mode, the whole narikiri dungeon appeal and all, but it still feels bleh.

This is my kind of NewGame+. Tongue Every game should have it. And I'm looking at you, Disgaea 2.

P.S: How long is Demon's Souls? The 1-4 statement makes me think it's short.

EDIT: On last chapter in Disgaea 2. I want Mao[spoiler/].

It probably took me somewhere between 70 and 80 hours. But my timer probably said around 115 when I beat it, but I tend to leave my games running for hours on-end, inflating my game time. Cut the 70-80 hours in half and you'll probably get a more realistic average.

Good lord, New Game + is unholily brutal. It might well be impossible for me. I feel like the only reason I've been able to get anywhere is because the sword I obtained for beating the game.

Stronger Enemy Bills.

That said, the main game of Disgaea 2 is laughably easy compared to Disgaea 1 anyway >_>

I mean geez the final boss is pathetic especially when considering what most NIS final bosses are like (Hi Sulphur!)

But one's not enough for me. D: How can I activate more than one?

On an unrelated note, playing Tales of Vesperia.

*raises white flag*

New Game+ in Demon's Souls is just too damn hard for me. If you went through the game the first time through mainly being a tank and using your shield to block attacks, you're at an incredibly severe disadvantage. New Game+ seems to be geared towards those who are quick-witted, can use lightweight armor and have mastered roll dodging. I'm done. For now...

So, like I decided to fire up an emulator and play a game my sis purchased for me when I was seven: Jersey Devil for the PS1. In a nutshell: Generic and bland as hell 3D platformer. I cannot believe how bad this game is. First off, as I was playing, there was no background music in this game as far as I'm concerned. Second, the game gives you WAY too many lives. Halfway through the second stage and already I has 19 lives. Third, the hit detection is awful. That and the AI likes to cheat. I fight this weird mummy and he backs up everytime I try to hit him. Once the hit detection gave me the finger, I gave the game the finger back and shut off the emulator.

Eh....didn't mean to go on a rant. Anyway, because I miss this series, I'm replaying the .Hack//G.U. games. I can't wait for Link.

"Even Stronger Enemies" and "Strongest Enemies" are 5 SEBs and 20 SEBs altogether. Also you can keep passing the same bill over and over.

Anyway, speaking of Disgaea 2 I'm giving Disgaea 3 another shot so I can see what Raspberyl's story mode is like. I need to beat the current cycle I'm on though, and going through the main story in Disgaea 3 takes forever @_@

Pic speaks for itself.

(Yeah, I find some way to nerd up my pictures more, don't I?)

Yes, it's Itagaki's "favorite" 3D fighting game series.  (Wikipedia link if you don't understand the deal with the statement's sarcasm)

I have to admit it...I suck at Tekken 6.  It's fun but I find my butt handed to me more.

Also, the online is horrible.  Probably worse than with King of Fighters XII (or so I heard for KoF XII).

Either way, I'll still play some Tekken 6.

Demon's Souls is so damn addicting. I just have one easy level left and New Game+ is beaten. I thought I wasn't going to survive level 5-2, but it was easy after getting a nice tip on how to thrash my worst nightmare of that level...it wasn't even able to get a single hit in. Felt really good offing that bastard so effortlessly. Probably going to do some item farming before I start New Game++.
