was playing tales of hearts. now im done with it. cant stomach it anymore. tried to convince myself to have a good time but after a while it started feeling a bit like children of mana(please dont ask me to ellaborate, it wont be pretty) . now im back to left 4 dead and just played a really good versus match. the other team did use the console to spam some unfixed bugs(spawning multiple special infected) but my team wiped the floor with them. this game can only keep me content for so long however with the lack of content

I just finished playing Tales of Hearts too, but unlike the poster above me, I had a real good time, god the last boss was so painful!!
Now moving on the post game stuff, I have lots to do, and I have to complete that damn Soma Evolve list (3 playthroughs, minimum), beat Guy, do the secret dungeon and get all Cameo items.
Without mentioning I *must* defeat all bosses on unknown to rape a lot of GRADE  Grin
Also, definetly must learn how to get a good infinite combo... I need minimum damage now >_>

Same here, just beat it last night. I'd start it all over again immediately but I'd rather wait for some kind of translation, be it official or not. Had loads of fun with it, last time I enjoyed a Tales THAT much was with Eternia years ago. Battle system and dungeon design are just wonderful. I didn't even care for the bland, repetitive world map zones and Spir Mazes as long as I knew there would be another huge, well-planned and puzzle-infested dungeon after them.

Having visible enemies in the field helped a lot too. Most dungeons are so big they'd be torture if they had random encounters. And I still think the "zones" were a decent first attempt at something new, they just need to be tweaked a bit next time.

I also loved the cast. Shing and Amber* are the cutest Tales couple ever. But I still hate Jadeite*. Loved the skits, the cutscenes, the plot twists, everything. Kinda makes me wish for a sequel or ToS-like spinoff, though I know it won't happen.

Oh, and I don't get the soundtrack hate. If anything, I liked both battle themes more than in half the other mothership games, and some of the dungeon themes are pretty cool. It's better than sakuraba's average, at the very least. But whatever.

Anyway, I liked ToH so much I'm even considering giving Abyss and Tempest another chance. Don't think I need to explain why Tempest needs a chance, but Abyss... I like it less and less everytime I try to start it over. It seemed pretty good at first, then average, then terrible. If this keeps up I'll end up becoming a hater. >___>

*= Yes, I'll support Absolute Zero's decision to translate their names, and use them from now on. Never liked how "Kohak" souns anyway. Tongue

If you don't mind, can you do it by PM? Now you got me curious. Tongue
And may I ask you how long you have played it? The first hour or so seems to exist just to make people give up. I'd give it another spin if I were you... but oh well.

I'm glad you could get into it after all. Smiley I was quite surprised when I saw how much quicker and more frantic the battles got by just upgrading my stats a little and learning some basic abilities. It went from standing in front of the enemy and pressing A a dozen times to OMFG WHAT THE HELL SO MUCH STUFF AT THE SAME TIME CHISAISHOU URYEAAAAA! By the tenth hour it was already my favorite battle system in the series. And there were so many dungeons I almost forgot the spir mazes and world corridors existed.

--

Just so that this post isn't completely off-topic... I started World Destruction. Feels like Xenogears all over, even the battle system is like a dumbed down version of it. There are quite a few annoying bugs though, especially with collision detection. Maybe I should wait till september and play the refined US version... hmm

(ForceCube, I think you meant Amber, not Ember, in your Hearts post.  Cheesy )

I bought Persona 3: FES last weekend. Probably going to start playing it either tonight or in a day or two.

I have Persona fes too. It's interesting but I haven't continued playing it for a while. I should to get past the first full moon phase. I'm ordering swap magic soon with a slim ps2 flip top so I can play tales of rebirth. Here's hoping I don't face any problems. One quick question. Do I only need the flip top to work the swap magic disc?

...damn, I always thought it was Ember, but now I checked and it's really with an A! And "ember" is something entirely different! o_o

I feel so stupid now. I need to go back and edit every post I made about ToH in every thread of every message board I post at. >_>

IIRC, the Flip Top is the one you need for the Slim ("Phat" uses the key, right?). Then you pop in the Swap Magic disc and whatnot.

you can actually get a flip top for the big ps2 as well and it should work the same way.

Various Dooms in PrBoom. It's been a while. I first played Doom in DOS on my old 486, then again in Windows on a Pentium III, and again in Doomsday on an Athlon XP. I'm on a Core 2 Duo now, and decided game-changing enhancements aren't really for me. I still suck at it.

Atelier Iris didn't really hold my attention for more than a few hours...

Hmm... that's quite sad to hear. Some aspects of Atelier Iris can only be really enjoyed after you've put some time into them. Veola, the girl from Kavok's item shop, is the best example. She starts out as a bland NPC and ends up as one of the best female game characters ever.

And at first AI's item creation system seemed kinda meh to me, but after trying out a few things I went from "I can't read the freaking item names! Why am I wasting my time on this crap?" to "Tri-Ace who? Star Ocean what?". I'd give it a second chance if I were you, but...

I just started Growlanser: Heritage of War... not as bad as I thought. It may be a bad Growlanser in a few ways, but it's still far from being a bad game overall. Too bad I'll be forced to play the sequel in japanese right after I finish it, because Atlus failed me. >_>

Finally Star Ocean Second Evolution on PSP.

I was afraid of picking the game due to new voice actors but there pretty solid. <Still missing Ashton "I'm soo HAPPY!" status screen looks different too not to mention that overall graphic is somehow nicer and cleanse.

I notice a bit of rewrite scenario and new PA  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy awwww this game soooo COOOLLLLL

Can't wait to fight with 10 wise men hahaha  haha
