I'm playing tales of eternia again I still haven't beaten it yet but I do enjoy playing it. One difference though; I TURNED THE VOICE ACTING OFF! Seriously, it's much more enjoyable with out the cheesed voice acting. I don't think I'll ever really get tired of the tales of phantasia battle system and the tales of eternia battle system. Although really can not stand the tales of destiny psx battle system. the characters don't attack if you're in front of them. It just annoyed me. Also I didn't like how I was just restricted with Stahn. Damn I wish they brought over the remake along with the actual sequel.

.hack//GU vol. 2 Reminisce Really intriguing storyline and though battles can feel repetitive at times, it is still great fun. You can feel Namco's influence on the battle system, especially in executing Divine Awakenings; much different than the first series.

Valkyria Chronicles.

Very fun strategy game. Almost like a miyazaki take on Enemy At the Gates.

Finally finishing STAR OCEAN 2: THE SECOND STORY
Damn this game is CHEAP, I am stuck on a boss where you fight 2 of the final villains at once, where in the beggining one of them does a super cheap fire move (that even with fire resistance it takes 3K damage to everyone) and the other enemy goes and steals MP, plus turns my allies into stone.
I have only one stone check too... and I dont know how to get more... and my replication skill is still lvl1

Although the beam of stone is annoying, chances are it'll only hit you if you're going for Vesper. Attack Decus instead to prevent him from using Spicule over and over. Having fire resistant gear is very helpful. Having Chisato spam Tear Gas over and over on him should kill him quick.

Once Decus is down the fight becomes laughably easy.

Thanks that helped me a LOT.
I used Dias, Claude, Rena and Ashton.
I like Twin Slash now Cheesy
Now I am on the final boss, got him to 20K HP (I dealt him most of his damae in a second, really) his second form is annoyingly hard.
There is no single element to protect myself, I have Water attacks, Fire attacks, and I think that he also used Shadow Flare once....
And Southern Cross kills my party except rena, no matter what I do
Gonna level up, I guess ( I am on early 70s)

Throughout the whole battle Indalecio will use Divine Wave constantly. Extremely annoying to deal with, the best way to approach him is using long range attacks. The Eternal Sphere sword for Claude really helps out if you don't have it though then use Helm Splitter for approach and then use Mirror Slice.

As for his other attacks the ones you should be concerned with are Star Flare, Divine Comedy and Earthquake. Star Flare and Earthquake are his most damaging spells, Earthquake can easily wipe out an under leveled party. With Star Flare just have gear that resists Star element and it no longer becomes a threat. Earthquake on the other hand is ferocious. Just hope he doesn't use it or hope Guts activates.

Divine Comedy is scary too. He only does this when he merges with Filia. It does up to 6000 damage and I believe its non-elemental as well. The best you can muster is have Rena heal ASAP. Force the AI to heal the party if need be. The other way is to prevent him from merging with Filia in the first place. Moment of Truth is a spell and he can't do it if you keep wailing on him.

As for before he merges with Filia, hes a total pushover, he cant cast, with hurricane slash, Wolf Scream Blast (with the howl) and twin slash (with 4 slashes) he cant stand a chance, he barely moves.

Divine Comedy is water element, I beleive, since it did me 2K damage after I equipped everyone with water resistance.

And, I CANT stop him merging with filia, cause the damn thing will start doing all 0s...
When he merges Ashton and Dias AI wont use their skills, meaning its very very hard to approach him (even without him spamming divine wave, which I almost always parry), I even tried using Delay on him, and its no use...
I think I will level up to 75

Odin Sphere I will really beat this game. I swear. Anyway managed to finally complete Cornelius' painful last stage and boss and now I'm on Velvet's story. Mercedes' story was laughably easy and posed little difficulty whilst Oswald's last stage and boss gave me many troubles (That dashing attack is so cheap without Invisible).

I'm currently playing Zone of The Enders: The Second Runner. I have to say this game is just pure awesome if you factor out the dub and camera issues... The camera issues are completely forgiveable though because of the awesome lock on system. It's just when there is nothing to lock on to that the camera sucks... I don't think I can forgive the dub though... It's not ear bleeding bad but it's just not believable! It probably wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the fact that I don't get a choice when it comes to audio any way. If you need to use one more lousy disk then use it! I just want the choice damn it! I'm still loving the game when I'm playing it though. The graphics are gorgeous. Fully cell shaded. All the people are animated like they don't even have 3D models and it's integrated seamlessly! I'm going to suffer through the voice acting because it's just that kick ass.

Rudra no Hihou... the only SNES Square RPG I haven't heard of or played before until now actually which is surprising.

About to play would be more correct, I heard it had an interesting magic system and different scenarios like Live A Live. That's all I really know about it ==;

Well I'm playing tales of Vesperia and eternal sonata on ma new xbacks tree ticksty. I have to say I'm having a lot of fun with these two. I'm early in both games but if I had to say which one I like better it's eternal sonata. I'm more drawn into the story with sonata because of the way they made the cut scenes (no f****ing text boxes!). It really feels like watching an anime (especially with the japanese audio). The camera and animation in the cut scenes are well done.

On the other hand we tales of Vesperia which took the "abyss" rout for cut scenes (I say abyss because the feel is very similar). Animation is limited and takes a back seat. Camera direction is basically forgettable. If one good thing came out of so2 it's the change in how they do cut scenes in the game and I hope other tales games adopt this. Oh yeah and the freaking text boxes need to go. The voice acting is fine for what it is and what conditions english voice actors work through in low budget dub jobs (STOP SHOVING THEM IN BLACK BOOTHS ALONE WITH NO ACTUAL DIRECTION LEAVING THEM TO WORK IT OUT THEM SELVES!!) It's certainly better then zone of then enders 2. Still it all comes down to that choice thing... I don't have much gripes with the voice acting though.

I like that they finally voiced skits! I'm finally paying attention to them and I have to say they really flesh out the characters. Does any one else get the feeling though that they didn't voice all the scenes in the game that they should have? There are some scenes that are silent but the music volume is too quiet. Then there are scenes where its voiced but the music volume is jacked up to full and you can't really hear the voices that well. I dunno some thing's fishy Undecided Well I'm off to play some more vesperia Grin

Eternal Sonata starts off decently, but before you know it, it starts falling apart completely. By the time I got halfway through it, I couldn't take it anymore. The characters were horrible, the battle system became the easiest and most repetitive thing ever, and the story just wasn't interesting enough to keep me going. Had to sell it immediately. Biggest disappoint this generation. I really wanted to like it. Vesperia didn't have any of those problems for me, and Yuri was leaps and bounds better than any of the ES cast right from the start.

Anyway, I'm playing a bit of catch up. I just started (Phoenix Wright) Ace Attorney 2: Justice for All. The first one was awesome and I don't know why it's taken me so long to get to this one. I finished the first case, which was much better than the first case in the original. I haven't even made it to the courtroom of the second case yet, not too sure what to think of it yet.

I have the same sentiment as Cless in regards to Eternal Sonata.  The only difference was that I actually played through the entire game to make sure my critique was valid.  Like I said earlier in the topic, Cless dodged a bullet dropping the game before completion since whatever else he might have played would probably displease him even more.  The character (and their development) were horrible, the story was just as bad (with some pretty bad dialogue, I might add), and the most shallow and overly easy battle system I have ever seen.  And I seriously don't want to mention more about the story (A particular scene and the ending are my biggest gripe in this bad story).  Eternal Sonata has to be the most overrated underdog I have ever seen and I get the feeling Chopin's rolling in his grave after finding out that someone made a lackluster RPG based around him.  It was so disappointing that when I heard of the PS3 port, I had to warn my sister and her friend (who owns and shares a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360) not to get this game.  Not to mention the game proves to me that originality can be overrated.

Yeah, as you can tell, it has actually been a year since I bought that game and, while it's not the worst game I have ever played, I certainly hate that game so much for being so disappointing.  I also really wanted to like it but it failed badly!

Sorry to get so in a ranting mood there.  I just feel that way that I really had to speak about it like that.  Hopefully, I'll never speak about it again,  especially with Tales of Vesperia around.  It doesn't change the way we play games but I'm just glad it focused on just being a great game.

Anyway, I'm playing Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360).  Technically, I'm going through co-op with a friend and since I got my own copy of the game for Christmas, we can do it online.  I haven't played more with him yet, so I'm thinking I'm going to jump into online battles...that is, if the broken matchmaking I'm hearing about doesn't get in the way.

Also, Rock Band 2 (Xbox 360).  Back to being a fake rock star (I went as far as calling my rock band, "Brave Vesperia" but it looks like someone took it already for online purposes).  Right now, I'm unlocking the setlist for this game before I cough $5 to put the Rock Band 1 song list on the hard drive.
