If I ever get a 360, so far it will be only for the new Banjo-Kazooie. By the time that gets released, the 65nm process will probably be in effect. But immediately I still want a Wii. But even before that, I have to replace my PS2. It's all a conspiracy I tell you, eventually all pre-slim PS2s will have a fatal problem that forces you to buy a slim to keep playing your games. Out of two friends and me, mine was the first to go.  The other two's have weak lasers that need multiple resets to read games. Theirs' will die eventually, it's all a matter of time.

Now even with finals next week, I couldn't help but go back to Viewtiful Joe 2. I just have one more Reel left on Ultra V-rated mode, then I'll stop for the time being. I may go back over the summer and try to beat the 37 (36 in name) Chambers of Viewtiful. After school's out, I think I'll try to get through every English Tales game (when I'm not at summer school : ( ) as well as a couple of other games I have been itching to finish like Resident Evil 4, both God of Wars, and Metroid Prime 2.

One thing that may be worth a mention was how noisy the drive was in general, I did a bit of research and it turns out I had the loudest type of drive (Samsung). Here's hoping the replacement gets a BenQ in it (although, granted, it'll be for nothing if the console breaks down again).

Use of a hard drive can delay the death of the laser. I also only still know of one person to this day who had a Japanese PS2 die in such a way, so I think the conspiracy is on SCEA's part. Everyone I know in person that has had an NTSC U/C PS2 for more than a year has had to replace or repair it at least once.

I'm waiting for the 65nm manufacture process (which hopefully translates into more reliable hardware) and at least a $100 price drop before I spring for the 360. Which'll hopefully happen by the end of the year, because I really want to play Eternal Sonata.

Hmm I thought people at Microsoft said 65mn would never happen for x360, or was that for the elite console?

Btw I'm playing Valkyrie Profile 2, and I find this game very boring and too long at the end (Chapter 5-6)
The story is weird but that's maybe because of the translation, I'll somehow force myself to finish it though ^^

I've been playing the freaking Pokemon game (was given to me as a gift a few days ago) and I don't care what kind of stigma that gives me

In more relevant news, Odin Sphere is actually a fun game. I mean I knew it would be pretty and interesting and all, but was surprised to find it's actually fun - as well as challenging.
As for how it plays, just when you think everything's been figured out and will only just increase in scale, they change it - from your inventory system to how you get/use items as well as fruits and seeds to how you heal and get max HP up.

After what seemed like a long time I finally got my copy of Tsukihime, and now I am very happy. Great story, great characters.

I also got Kagetsu Tohya along with it but my knowledge of Japanese is pretty small so I guess I'll have to wait awhile for a translation to emerge.

Only got one new game to play.

After beating Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, what do I do now?  Oh, I go and get Goemon's Great Adventure (N64).  What can I say?  It's a blast.  2 1/2-D side scrolling platforming gameplay.  Plus, I still am getting so much of a kick out of those Impact battles.

Figured I'd try out Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, since it was only $9. Honestly, I had expected more. It just seems to be a showcase of poorly excuted good ideas.
It's a fun game, and all, but the areas you play in lack detail and variance, the camera angle is a pain when fighting (especially when you use the target lock, which you need to steal materials), and Hector moves so amazingly slow that getting anywhere and backtracking is near murder. That said, it was entertaining to play at first, then it just seems to get repetitive, there being few items or abilities that offer any added gameplay after the first few you get. The Innocent Devil system has merit, but they eat up hearts quickly and you are forced to use weapons you might not like to collect the spheres to evolve them (and you need quite a lot). My final complaint is the characters aren't fleshed out well enough to justify their flashy, dramatic arrogance and ham-acting, so they just look ridiculous

Er, sorry - long list of really minor nitpicks - they just add up is all.

Hi. I'm new. I'm also a huge Super Robot Wars geek, but I've been into Tri-Ace/Tales longer.

Over the past week, I've been playing nothing except Super Robot Wars Alpha 3, Super Robot Wars Alpha 2 (first appearance of my namesake), and Super Robot Wars MX. I also attempted to play Tales of Rebirth. I've got translation guides and I know a little Japanese, so I'm pretty safe as far as at least selecting the commands I want to select. Can't read the story, but that's what plot summaries are for. Ha ha!

Speaking of Super Robo Wars. I got a chance to play Battle Moon Wars, which is a Super Robo Wars game with Type-Moon characters. However my PC is rather unstable when playing the game. and everytime Roa attacks Saber the game freezes >_<

And speaking of Type-Moon, I'm playing through Fate/Stay Night now that the translation has finished one scenario and is close to finishing another. Pretty good, but I like Tsukihime better.

And I'm also playing the doujin danmaku game, TWilight INSanity for quite some time. Its pretty great though it doesn't compare to the Cave games or the Touhou series. Its still great though.

And its now come to me that the only "commercial' game I even playing is Fate/Stay Night (If you consider it one) =/

I'm on and off playing through Odin Sphere [currently on the 2nd story..."The Pooka Prince"]

I hate when new games come out because I simply HAVE to get them [like ocd?] and in the end I have all of these games that I end up playing at the same time and only a couple ever get finished.

Added to that I've decided to play .Hack//GU Volume 1 [coming from someone who hated the first game series, I think NamcoBandai out-did themselves]  It's an awsome game although I think I'm gonna wait till Volume 3 before I move on to Volume 2 - that way I KNOW I can get the full story by then.  Like Xenosaga almost; I refused to play the first 2 episodes until I knew for certain episode 3 was only a few months away.

And finally my last game...The Darkness [HOLY FREAKIN CRAP! is this game insane or what!?!?]  I'm not a multiplayer person but the story in the single player mode defines "awsome."  I get the feeling that this games is only a TASTE of what Bioshock has in store for us...wait and see my friends ^_^
