Ehh, money's been pretty tight for everyone here so I received random things on the most part, and a haircut but I'm not posting any pictures of that.

I didn't get anything game-related aside from a couple of Steam game gifts and a $50 EB Games gift card (with the price of gaming here that "isn't much", but I'm happy with it.)

I got:
-Disgaea 4
-Two Discworld books: Mort and Guards! Guards!
-Reno 911 fourth season (I LOVE that show)
-$65 worth of gamestop gift cards
-$10-15 each in gift cards for Cheeburger Cheeburger, Wendy's, Burger King, and Sheetz. I actually got two Cheeburger gift cards totalling $25, and a coupon that gives me $3 off my order.
-New Dir en grey album (Dum Spiro Spero; if you're a fan of J-Rock, BUY IT)
-Another fleece pullover.
-A pair of winter-ish boots. They're insulated and go halfway up my shin. I may have to buy some longer socks.
-A mistakenly-ordered Dynasty Warriors 7 when I wanted XL. I was promised this would be exchanged for the right one. I was also told I'd get Queen's Blade: Spiral Chaos (they issued a GH version so the price dropped).

I hope Queen's Gate gets the same treatment so I don't have to pay $82 for it.

I bought myself (over the past month or so):

  • A low-mid-range Fujitsu laptop (Sandy Bridge-based Core i3; integrated graphics)
  • A boatload of anime DVDs/Blu-rays and over a few dozen volumes of manga
  • A few anime figurines
  • Over a dozen games:
    • Alice: Madness Returns (Steam)
    • Bastion (Steam)
    • Bully: Scholarship Edition (Steam)
    • ClaDun: This is an RPG! (PSP/PSN)
    • Dungeon Defenders (Amazon->Steam)
    • Dungeons of Dredmor (Steam)
    • Jamestown (Steam)
    • Just Cause 2 (Amazon->Steam)
    • LIMBO (Steam)
    • NIER (PS3)
    • Okamiden (NDS)
    • Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition (Steam)
    • Sequence (Steam)
    • Solatorobo: Red the Hunter (NDS)
    • Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (PSP)
    • TRAUMA (Steam)

Didn't put me in debt, but did drain a very hefty chunk of my cash reserve. Most everything I had gotten was as a result of the steep discounts that only occur around this time of year. It's really hard to not grab things you're remotely interested in that are at fire sale-level prices.

The Steam sale still has an entire week left. I could easily spend even more on upcoming daily deals. It's a good thing they're all so cheap.

Time for all this stuff? 404!

From other people:

  • $200 cash
  • $25 Amazon.com gift card
  • A few Steam games:
    • Cave Story+
    • Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
    • Mass Effect 2
  • Sweatshirt
  • Silverware set
  • Oven mitts
  • Wallet

...well, a few things that aren't terribly exciting to list, but will be useful.

Hoooo boy I've been irresponsible with money this year. Like Cless said, it's hard not to buy things you have even a small interest in when they're going for insane prices.

So after buying gifts for friends and family to feel better about all I'm getting for myself, it still doesn't help and you'll see why considering what I bought. But for those who look at my older posts, you already have an idea.

Received as gifts:
L.A. Noire (360)
God of War III
Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (PC CD-ROM)
Renegade Ops (Steam)
Lockpick set (I'm gonna use this LEGALLY in my OWN HOME and NOWHERE ELSE and have NO INTENT OF BREAKING AND ENTERING NOR INTENT TO COMMIT A CRIME for anyone of governmental affiliation who would happen to be reading this forum)

Bought for myself with insane Black Friday/Holiday sale prices + free shipping:
Black Wii bundle (motion+ controller, NSMB Wii, SMG OST) + Skyward Sword ($150 from target.com the Sunday morning before Black Friday. Ended up being better than any Black Friday Wii deal I saw)
160GB PS3 Black Friday bundle ($200 on amazon)
Back to the Future: The Game ($10 on steam)
God of War Origins ($20 on amazon)
No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise ($15 from bestbuy.com)
No More Heroes 2 ($8 from bestbuy.com)
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition ($15 from bestbuy.com)

edit: Tack on Sonic Generations for $10.19 on steam right-the-eff-now

The SSF4AE actually ended up being the misprinted version that doesn't have the "360" in "Xbox 360" so I guess the low low price was Best Buy trying to rid itself of all those misprinted copies.

So I'm actually not gonna open it and see how much it's worth in a few years.

But yeah, It's mainly buying two consoles for myself where I feel like a selfish bastard. BUT LOOK AT THOSE PRICES and tell me you wouldn't do the same thing.

I actually did get a side $500 to go spending crazy for the holiday for myself.

A lot of those are what I bought and already mentioned in the "Now Playing" section, being:
*Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (Xbox 360)
*Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3)
*Grandia II (Dreamcast)

I also bought a 250GB Hard Drive of a particular model, in order to do that thing with running PS2 ISOs off the hard drive.  Well, my PS2's laser is getting weak but at least I can still play my PS2 games until I get around to doing maintenance on my PS2.

As for what I received:
*Star Wars Blu Ray box set.
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and complain about CG Yoda in this release of Episode I, despite how those same kind of Star Wars fanboys established for the past 12 years, that Episode 1 is a piece of crap.  Okay, I'm just making fun of how the Star Wars fanboy make a big deal out of the former, despite the latter.

But seriously, I've been waiting for the Blu Ray box set for these movies.  I'm going to marathon the two trilogies separately (because I can't handle a 6 hour movie marathon) and I'll put up with Episode 1 (Okay, it's been a long time since I've seen Episode 1, so I don't really have anything to say).

*A Black Nintendo 3DS.
Yeah, I decided to join to the 3DS clan.  I felt like I should now get a newer DS and I figured why not, make it a 3DS.  No, this does not mean I am buying Tales of the Abyss on 3DS.  I have Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and Resident Evil: Revelations more in mind.

*The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
This is an extra copy a friend had because he bought the Limited Edition Zelda 3DS that also came with the game.  He gave it to me since he didn't get to sell the game off on eBay on time.  This would make the...*counts N64, GCN Wind Waker preorder disc with original OoT and OoT Master Quest on it, and GCN Zelda Collector's Disc* the fifth time I play through it.  Yeah.

And...the gag gift I ended up with.
*Duke Nukem Forever on Xbox 360.
So yeah, I ended up with this game.  I'll have to see how insane I am to play through it, especially since it's the console version rather than the PC version.  Right now, I still have plenty of bubble gum.

I forgot to mention I got a small square-shaped cast iron frying pan. It's just the right size for making grilled cheese, and apparently every time I cook on it, I get a little iron in my system. So that's good, I guess? I used it today, actually, and it turned out to cook the grilled cheese pretty well. Just the right amount, not too burnt on either side, and nothing got stuck to the pan.

Personally, I think the Yoda puppet used in the Phantom Menace looked atrocious, especially in comparison to the one(s?) used in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the latter of which I am glad they kept. Anyway, yes, I think CGI Yoda was a good change among pointlessness of most other changes, which "diehard" fans need to stop b*tching about.

CG-I Yoda was a good change
Darth Vader NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in episode 6 was an awful change

All the other changers are really minor and unless someone pointed them out you wouldn't notice them
