A BAD NINJA APPEARS!

You should just read an FAQ on it. It's probably the worst thing about the game...the steps to getting ending A are so arbitrary and ambiguous you'd need blind luck to stumble upon it without help. Seriously.

So well worth it though! Even if the final boss is wimpy despite all his razzle-dazzle.

like I said before: BULLSHIT AN HYPOCRISY, and please refrain yourself from misjudge people you don't konw, it sounded like you're a child and just for your learning I wasn't complaining to you or anyone else I was just longing for an explanation; but still it's the same for me like I said backwards. Look, bro.

Don't get worked up. All I'm saying is it's not bullshit, or hypocrisy.

You asked where you could download an ISO file. Which is illegal.

I talked about ISO files which I illegally downloaded, but shared no information on where I got them or how I can get more.

Two totally different things.

And please don't try to say I "sounded like a child".

It's not a very good argument, insult, or whatever it was intended to be. Because I know my post was intelligently written, and was correct. But, like I said. Don't get too worked up. What's done is done.

Whatever, bro.

*EDIT*

I also don't see how I misjudged you. Or, as you put it, "misjudged people I don't know."

I read what you posted, and responded to what I felt about your post. I didn't misjudge anything.

jimmycane, I"m gonna tell you one good thing for you to do right now; go see the hints I gave to you about valkyrie profile and when I asked for the " illegal" iso I was a newbie here and didn't know this rule at that time, so if you look around the forum you won't see anyother request from me beside the ones I did when I"ve just entered here.

I know. I understand this. That's why I said it's not a big deal. You made a blissfully ignorant mistake. We all make them.
No big deal.

And I read your hints for Valkyrie Profile. They were appreciated.

it has been 6 years or maybe more that I've played valkyrie profile, but one thing I remember; you got to do triggering events until chapter 4 ( there are many events that trigger the alternative ending ) and about the artefacts don't bother sending all of them to odin, another hint, save before you send or keep an artefact; there are some that are worthwhile keeping and others not, but the key to the true ending lies with lucien and a low seal value (cause odin and freya sealed valkyrie's memories ) and the triggering events.

WTF???

I'm almost done with Chapter 1 and I've had a few WTF moments so far...

My first WTF is this...

I went to the Cave of Oblivion. I read a walk through and it sounded like a pretty easy/cool dungeon. Kill some monsters, get some treasures. Piece of cake. Until the monsters there turned out to be ridiculously strong. I first encountered a Zombie Dragon. I don't know how powerful they really are, but for some reason my characters did A LOT of damage to it. So they killed it in one turn. Above that Zombie Dragon was some sort of Harpy. This battle was a bit tougher, but it was basically like a boss battle. Either way, I got a shit load of exp from both fights, causing my characters all to be level 7 or 8, except the archer kid, who I haven't been using. I am using Belenus, because I plan to send him up at the end of this chapter. Anyway, I continued a long and found that the rest of the enemies were OVERBOARD strong and they killed all my characters in like, one hit. So I reloaded, just to see if anything changed, which it didn't. So I fought the Dragon and the Harpy over again and this time I got a Bracelet of Zoe from the Dragon. Which leads to my second WTF moment...

So I put it on Arngrim, who is ridiculously overpowered thanks to the Emerald Necklace (which I have been sharing with all my characters). I basically did everything you need to do in this chapter. I got the two characters, got their special items and Arngrim's sword (which broke, and I saved without realizing it was broken. So now it's gone for good. =( ). I did all the dungeons, and made sure I didn't visit the places you're not supposed to if you want to get the A ending. So I ended up having 21/24 periods. So I decided to get one last dungeon in. Anyway, with the Zoe Bracelet equipped I fought a battle in the Solde Catacombs. Arngrim leveled up to level 9 and his HP jumped from 6600+ to about 9700+.
Is that supposed to happen because of the level up? Do characters gain an obscene amount of HP from level 8-9, or is it because of the bBracelet of Zoe? And if so, that means that the description is wrong (or my game glitched) because it says it raises it by 300, and it just raised it by 3000 instead.

Can anyone explain this? I am going to put the bracelet on Belenus just to see if it does the same thing for him.

And I really haven't gone out of my way to make my character extra strong. I just played the game how I would have played it normally.

*EDIT*
Well, it wasn't the Bracelet. Belenus just leveled up, and he didn't get an extra 3000. He went from 7-8 whereas Arngrim went from 8-9. So I'm guessing it has to do with the 8-9 jump.

*EDIT*

It seems my game is a little different from how the walkthrough says it should be. I noticed it in the first chapter. When I use the soul search thing the archer kid showed up first, then a few dungeons, then Belenus. Which is a bit different than what the walkthrough says. Also, in chapter 2 Lawfer came up, like normal, but instead of Jun coming up next, which is what the walkthrough says, Nanami appears instead.

And there is the whole thing with The Cave of Oblivion. I searched the walkthrough and the enemies I was fighting chapter 1 were the enemies that you're supposed to fight in chapter 4. Wtf?

Is my game messed up, or is the game just sort of random? Which would be pretty cool. Replay-ability.

I am playing on Normal, btw.

Cave of Oblivion = Random + Some really hard enemies (leave them for later chapters) + 8 Caves in total if I recall correctly.

The characters don't always show up in the same chapter/order (I remember a walkthough that said when each character could appear)

I'd recommend playing the game in Hard, it isn't that difficult and it's a great experience.

EDIT: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/199175/12648 look at the characters section, it shows when everyone could show up. There's also a list of recommendations of characters for sending at the end of each chapter.

You probably did big damage to the zombie dragon because someone had the Dragon Slayer equipped. You should only use Slayer weapons against enemies that are weak to them. It's probably what broke, too. The game has it so that "man made" weapons are inferior to divine ones; they have a random probability of breaking (Dragon Slayer has a 5% chance, I believe. But you can see this random chance in description). Slayer are in finite supply but I think there are a few Dragon Slayers within the main quest. But IIRC, Dragon Slayers are pretty much a necessity to beating dragons. I don't know if the one you seem to have had was the one from Arngrim's house, but there's one in there. I make it a point to save before using a Slayer, if you can. It SUCKS when they break and you don't have any spares. Usually the probability is small enough that it doesn't matter if you only use it once, but...watch for the break effect.

Every 3-4 levels, characters get a "big" boost in HP compared to the ones. Heavy Knights get the largest boost and every few levels they gain around 4000 HP. So Arngrim will be have 13000-14000 HP before you know it.

The game is worth playing on Normal and Hard, IMO. Each mode has some unique dungeons. However, the ones exclusive to Hard mode are harder. It's not so much that the battles are harder, the new dungeons' puzzles are much trickier. You do get 33% less EXP in fights in Hard, and new recruits (no matter what point of the game) only come at level 1, but it's not that big a deal, especially if going for ending A. Normal mode is a good excuse to see ending B, no matter how much it sucks compared to A.

I'll probably replay the game on Hard mode.

But yeah, all the stuff you just said I basically figured out in the end. Except the advice on the slayer weapons.

Now that I know this I'll make sure I save the ones I have. Thanks a ton.

Since I was playing So2, I started playing VP1...
Why do all tri-ace games have so cheap bastard random enemies?
There is the humongous firefly in Lezardīs tower, which explodes killing my whole party on a turn!

Anyways I got Auto-Item and put Elixir and Union Plume to 100% for everyone, now I am invincible (unless they kill all my party on one turn like stated above).
I am just running away all the dangerous battles just like SO2 and their human eating worms

jimmycane, I did everything you can do in this wonderful game, the secret to the A ending lies in a low seal value like I said before, i guess you better get a faq cause it's a bit complicated to explain here, I'm gonna look for one good and simple for you and give the link. in normal mode you may get the A ending but the true experience in the game comes with the hard mode; both of them deserves your time, but in the hard mode you get the flames jewels tha will open the sealed doors at the seraphic gate; I'm not gonna tell what resides inside those doors but I'm gonna assure you, you better have the flame jewels to open them. and the dungeons are very different from each mode and the caves of oblivion are randomly generated, another hint, save ate the world map before you go into a cave; cause as you know there are caves that are way far stronger than you and another hint for you don't break your slayer sword easily you use your mage or archer before any sword user doing this you'll open their guards and the hit with sword will enter. if I remember anything else I'll tell you, bye.

Best site on the internet for that sort of stuff.
