All I have to say is...I'm ready to settle this old school rivalry once and for all...and not at the Olympics.  Seriously, I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to do this.

Awesoooooome. I've been WAITING for them to announce that! Ha ha ha, I've been wanting to test Sonic against Mario since like 1991.

I'm obviously referring to the current situation where Sonic games are going to downhill

Don't make me explain jokes =(

Indeed.  Even I got that the joke is referencing Sonic's games currently going downhill.

My bad.

What a sad state of affairs, when Sonic has to appear in someone else's franchise to be in a quality game. Cry

Yeah, RAY's appearance is pretty surprising considering MGS2 was never ported to a Nintendo console.

Perhaps they plan to in future?

There have even been reports of a newer metal gear appearing in smash bros, perhaps it's that gekko thing from MGS4? Either way, we now know that REX and RAY will appear in MGS4, so I wonder if there will be another future metal gear game for the Wii.

Orange just got me thinking of something.

After seeing Snake's chat with his team in regards to the other characters (Snake seeing Wario as such a weirdo, Snake being turned on by Zero Suit Samus, and Otacon telling Snake that Yoshi's a male, despite laying eggs, and Snake wanting to taste Yoshi), I would love to hear their comments on Sonic.

I bet it would go something like this...

Col. Campbell: Sonic. He's a hedgehog gifted with the ability to run at incredible speed, and he's the mascot of Sega.

Snake: Sega?

Col. Campbell: They're a game development company. Sega was founded in 1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Back then, it was known as Standard Games. In 1951, the company moved to Tokyo, Japan, and the Sega name was registered a year later. Sega is best known for making the Sega Genesis game system in 1988, and Sonic put both them and the Genesis on the map.

Snake: Whatever. How do I beat this guy?

Col. Campbell: That's the thing: As long as Sonic holds on to one golden ring, he's invincible.

Snake: Then how do I beat him?!

Col. Campbell: A collision may cause Sonic to drop his rings. For a short window of time, he'll be vulnerable as he scrambles to collect the rings he dropped. That's the time to strike.

Snake: Got it.

Sonic Rush is awesome, but a very different kind of Sonic.

I used to adore sonic and rush to get the next games - sadly I now shudder to hear another title announced
- *going* downhill?
from my viewpoint, it's circling the drain
