Have any DS owners noticed the sheer ONSLAUGHT of what could be AAA titles coming out in the last four months of the year? Add that to TWO new Tales games (Abyss/Destiny) and the Wii and I'm starting to think there's no way in hell that I'm going to keep up with all of this with a full time job.
Here are some that I'm buying on release date for sure:
Children of Mana (Four-player hack and slash = GOD!)
Final Fnatasy III
Final Fantasy V (GBA, but will be played on my Lite)
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 (another GBA title)
Yoshi's Island 2
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis
Dragon Quest Rocket Slime
Kirby Squeak Squad
Elite Beat Agents
And that's just the Nintendo/Square-Enix releases!

It isn't just the DS, it's the whole of gaming.
PS2
:
Disgaea 2
Okami
Final Fantasy XII
Rogue Galaxy (possibly delayed to 2007)
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of Destiny (J)
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
Yakuza
Wii
launches:
Excitetruck
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
Red Steel
Even
GameCube
has stuff:
Baten Kaitos 2
Super Paper Mario
Xbox 360
(not that I have this system yet or will possibly have it for awhile):
Dead Rising
And that's just what I'm interested in. I'll bet I'm still forgetting a bunch of things. 2006 is the best year for gaming in a long time... and my backlog is still huge as it is.

I'll have to check a PS2 release list.. out of the ones you listed I'm only interested in the two Tales titles (and maybe Valkyrie Profile). I'm pretty sure there's probably a bunch I'll want there too, joy. I'm not sure what Cave's arcade to home schedule is but I'm DYING to get Espgaluda 2 but I've heard nothing of it yet.
Super Paper Mario is on my To Buy list as well.
Haven't heard of Dead Rising but I'm keeping an eye on Blue Dragon for the 360.. but may pick up the system if there's a price drop before that to get any of the cross-platform stuff I play that may not make it to the Wii, plus Live Arcade is shaping out VERY NICELY.. though it doesn't hold a candle to what Wii will offer on the Virtual Console side.

You can't forget Starfox or Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS as well! I'm really looking forward to those!

My time is in more danger than my wallet.
I think Zelda: PH is coming out early 2007.

I checked the upcoming PS2 list on Gamestop's website and the only thing on there that I'll be getting is Capcom Classics Volume 2, though I'm sure there will be more announced as the year comes to a close. I'm actually curious how just much support the PS2 will get in the next year with the PS3 coming out. There isn't a single PS3 game I'm looking forward too that's been announced yet but there do seem to be a lot of PS2 games that are at least slightly interesting to me.

My list is probably close to 20 by now. Lord knows how much saving is needed to cover the costs.

I want a DS first
If I go to the US this summer, I'm buying one
Probably I'll get Final Fantasy III, Zelda: PH, and Castlevania: DS
Or maybe I'll just save for Wii

You're going to be dissapointed about seriously. Although I haven't played it looking from the trailers and reviews you're not going to like it.
