The multi-player games are played by swapping the remote. It's a lot more fun than it sounds actually.. just get five or six people together and watch the insanity ensue.

Well, upgrading my Wii right now so I can get news. I'm gonna see how the Wii makes news from Iraq cute and fuzzy lol, but man it takes awhile though... Anyway, just finished and man, its pretty cool... You can even get news from ALASKA lol

Virtual Consoles not really doing it for me right now because (A.) Its too much money for a game I could simply go download and (B.) There really aren't that many good games out for it and its been like 3 months ugh... Anyway, does any one have any news about them lowering those prices a tad bit lol???

I picked up Wario Ware last night with my little best buy reward zone coupons (from buying the TV last year). Also grabbed Hotel Dusk for DS. Haven't opened either of them yet though...

Anyone checked out that Polling Channel?  I just want to hear what others have to say about it.  All I have to say is that it's...interesting.  That's about the only thing I can say.  Something I would look into once in a while out of boredom.

I don't know if it has been said elsewhere but Super Paper Mario is now confirmed for April. So that and Sonic should finally get rid of the dust my Wii is gathering.

My Wii still gets PLENTY of use during the weekend when I've got people over. Admittedly, after I finished Zelda, I've only done minimal single player stuff (Trauma Center, Super Swing Golf and Mario 64). But that's okay by me.. considering the launch lineup of past systems, I say I'm quite satisfied with what I've gotten out of it so far.

Super Paper Mario is going to be HOT. I'm deadly curious how they plan to implement "RPG elements" into an old school Mario platformer. I'm also looking forward to SSX Blur; hopefully EA doesn't screw up the Wii exclusive version (see: Tony Hawk Downhill Jam).. and that they try a little harder than what they did with SSX On Tour. *cross fingers*

I might check out the new channels tonight if I've got time..

At least they're bringing the familiar faces back in SSX Blur. I completely skipped On Tour after hearing negativity from the fans.

That said, they picked the worst art possible for Blur. The characters now look frickin' hideous. It's a saving grace it doesn't transfer to their in-game counterparts. Goddamnit EA.

Yeah, Super Paper Mario should be awesome.

I wish Trauma Center would be released here already. The line-up here if fairly bad.

Format: Wii™
Launch Date: 04/09/07
ESRB: E (Everyone): Comic Mischief, Mild Cartoon Violence
Game Type: 2-D/3-D Side-Scrolling Action Platformer with RPG Elements
Players: 1
Developer: Intelligent Systems
Game Information

KEY INFORMATION
The newest chapter of the Paper Mario story isn’t just out of this world … it’s out of this dimension. What at first glance appears to be a 2-D side-scroller ripped straight from the stylized pages of the Paper Mario universe soon turns into a hilarious dimension-shifting platformer possible only on Wii.

* Players run through vibrant 2-D worlds, stomping on enemies and breaking blocks … then, with the press of a button, they flip into 3-D. In the third dimension, they’ll find hidden paths, battle foes and uncover secrets as they explore the previously invisible depth of the 2-D landscapes.

* Hold the Wii Remote™ sideways and control the game in classic Super Mario Bros.® style. Players can shake the Wii Remote™ to pull off stylish moves and break out of frigid ice and even point directly at the screen to get helpful hints from their sidekick. Not only that, but they’ll also play as Peach and Bowser, both with their own sets of essential skills.

* When a mysterious villain kidnaps Peach and Bowser and forces them to get married, their union creates a rift of dark energy that threatens to tear the universe apart. Hilarious characters, laugh-out-loud plot twists and unforgettable dimensions await as Mario™ makes his way through eight chapters, each more memorable than the last.

Game storyline: Mario and Luigi are enjoying a lazy afternoon at their house when they hear the terrible news: Princess Peach has been kidnapped! The two brothers head straight for Bowser’s castle to get her back, but Bowser is just as surprised about Peach’s kidnapping as they are. At that moment, a strange top-hatted villain warps in and abducts everyone but Mario. The mysterious villain then forces Peach and Bowser to get married, creating a rift of dark energy that threatens to tear the universe apart. Only Mario can save the day … but he can’t do it alone.

Characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, classic Super Mario Bros. enemies like Goombas and Koopa Troopas, along with a slew of vibrant new allies and villains.

Wii Controls: Super Paper Mario takes advantage of all the unique control features of the Wii. To play, players hold the Wii Remote sideways and control the game in classic Super Mario Bros. style and then use the motion-sensing and direct-pointing abilities for special game features.

How to progress through the game: Early on, the 2-D side-scrolling game play appears to be reminiscent of New Super Mario Bros.® But as soon as Mario learns the ability to flip between dimensions, players will be constantly flipping between 2-D and 3-D to pass perilous pits, find hidden coins and passages and talk to characters who are visible only in 3-D.

Players earn points for every enemy they stomp, item they grab and block they demolish. Once players rack up enough points, they level up. Every level gained allows Mario to take more hits and deal more damage to enemies. Later on, other characters join up with Mario. Players can swap between characters and use their unique abilities to solve puzzles and pummel bosses.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: All characters have their own abilities. Mario is the only character able to travel between the dimensions and flip between 2-D and 3-D. Princess Peach’s parasol allows her to glide across gaps. Bowser’s fiery breath incinerates enemies.

Players will find Pixls hidden throughout various stages. Each Pixl gives Mario (or any of the other characters) access to a special ability. For example, one Pixl lets Mario flip sideways and become paper thin; another lets him grab enemies and hurl them.

Items in Super Paper Mario work very similarly to items in Paper Mario™: The Thousand Year Door. Some items, like mushrooms, heal Heart Points. Other items, such as the Shooting Star, can be used during battle to destroy enemies.

I downloaded both the news and voting channels last night. I like the voting channel! My girlfriend and I went through all the questions.. answering all but the "What century would you rather live in?" question opposite of each other. *laughs*

Plus.. they added Solider Blade to the Virtual Console! YES!

So.. I know this game won't garner much interest here, it's not an RPG with anime characters and it sounds a lot like a Japanese take on a Grand Theft Auto type game, but the sheer absurdity of the concept of the game is too awesome to ignore.

Quote
IGN Wii: Please explain the premise for No More Heroes.

Suda: The main character, Travis Touchdown, was born from my imagination -- an idea that Johnny Knoxville (an actor from Jackass) is a Japanese anime otaku (animation freak) and this led him to be interested in Japanese martial arts.  Then, he finds himself talented in martial arts.  Johnny is also a Star Wars freak, and happens to purchase a lightsaber on an Internet auction.  After that, he starts to make his living as an assassin using this lightsaber.  This is how Travis was born, and after that I started to work on planning No More Heroes.

The story begins when Travis is ranked at the eleventh place of the killer association by an unexpected coincidence.  Travis is now a qualified assassin on this ranking list, and aims to become the ultimate, strongest assassins of all.  It is sort of like a growing-up story of a young assassin/kid which progresses by defeating all other assassins from 10th to the 1st place.   This ranking match with other assassins is the main part of the story.

That sounds interesting.  So does he go around killing people with a toy lightsaber or did he get a real one somehow?

I saw the trailer for it when it was still titled Heroes. The style is very intriguing and I wanted to know more... The only thing that I didn't like about the trailer was the voice acting...

I don't know exactly when, but they rereleased the trailer after they renamed it to No More Heroes.  It's the same thing except with different music (I personally liked the original trailer's music) and they changed Travis' voice (I sort of miss the old voice now because it was so horrible it was funny).

I think both Travis voices are comically horrible. Though I'm curious as to how the gameplay is set up. - I guess with Wii, this is the running question with everything now.

Wow.  No More Heroes sure does look interesting.  And it's from the same people that made Killer7?  I definitely have to see this.  Wonder if it's going to be as weird as Killer7, though (Not that it's a bad thing.  I enjoyed Killer7).
