Coming to US courtesy of XSEED.

Now, if only Namco didn't have such an iron-fisted grip on the Tales series...

yes! yes! all over my ... yes!

And they're trying their hardest to keep the original voice-overs. XSeed does what Namcodon't indeed.

On a more serious topic though... Cless, I think Namco is starting to get softer, a few years back they would never allow this, or Retro Game Challenge to happen (both by XSeed), so it seems to me they've certainly opened a door for that (tales games) to happen eventually... or something along those lines (if their relation keeps growing/depending on results, etc)

I feel Tales is harder than it seems though... I think they'd be too late to make the localization for PS2 2D Tales (and didn't a rumor suggest actually Sony blocked it?) and, similarly due to Sony's fault... SCEA has that damn stupid rule of "no ports" for PSP, which caused Tales of Eternia PSP to be enable to launch in US, blocked Atlus Devil Summoner PSP port despite the fact it had never ever come out out of Japan and... Breath of Fire 3 port.

My point... PSP is the only viable platform who has some of those games ports... in japan, and due to Sony's rules they wouldn't be able to launch them.

The issue here is timing, and Sony, and it's too late. They'd only be able to get their hands on Tales of Innocence and Tales of Hearts (not bad at all)

What games are XSeed known for? And isn't there still time for any PS2 Tales to come here yet(Destiny Director's Cut please)? And Fragile looks like an insta-buy for me. New Game+ in this one?

What games are XSeed known for?
Wild Arms, Growlanser, Shadow Hearts, Valhalla Knights, and Rune Factory Frontier (buy it if you can, the game is honestly awesome, it's literally glued to my Wii since it came out Grin the dudes who developed it deserve it)

And... They have a Horror Game based on the popular series, the Grudge coming and, Arc Rise Fantasia, for whom we have a thread (it's a game made by ex-tales studio members)

EDIT: I knew I had forgotten something! they're bringing Little King Story!
And isn't there still time for any PS2 Tales to come here yet(I care for Destiny Director's Cut)? And Fragile looks like an insta-buy for me? NewGame+?Huh Nowadays I look for replay value in games. I kinda have a different meaning for replay value.
Localizations take time and I'd say it's already too late to start now. Even if they had done the translation already and were releasing it now the platform is clearly past it's prime and each day/month that passes it's capacity to sell software decreases.

Let's face it... the games should have came out years ago Sad (and don't forget there's that "rumor" that sony wouldn't let namco release them in the first place)

Oh well....here's hoping that Graces, Versus and Hearts comes. BTW, does Rebirth PSP have enough new stuff for it to get Sony's approval? It has an arena, new skits, bugs corrected, cut-ins and a gallery.

P.S: Fragile looks cool. Turn-based?

I bet Graces will come... not so sure on the others. Versus might have more chances though (and I'd actually still pick Tales of Innocence for localization over versus and hearts)

I didn't know that Rebirth was expanded upon.

Then Rebirth has conditions to be approved by SCEA since their conditions are essentially "extra content" (hence why disgaea 1/2 have it). I don't think bugfixes count though, but skits and the arena certainly do.
P.S: Fragile looks cool. Turn-based?
Nah, real time Smiley

On the bright side, Rebirth PSP's getting a fan translation by Noctournal Creations. And does Fragile have NewGame+? How long does Fragile take to beat?

EDIT: Rebirth PSP also got a new difficulty setting: God mode. That and Mystic Arte cut-ins. Also, new GRADE shop options and new titles and items. And an illustration book to boot.

I don't know about that.

I know that Fragile is kinda short for a RPG though, roughly around 30 hours first play (without sidequests). The thing is that the game is some sort of hybrid, there's no party, combat is secondary and takes place in the field so you can just keep running away that the game's real focus is some sort of sci-fi future-punk drama who focuses on the character development of the other characters that although humanoid are not quite human, or perhaps even alive, for that matter.

Not the standard RPG, or one you should expect be playing for the gameplay alone, in some attempt to best yourself boing more combos/summons/hi-ougi's or doing all the sidequests to do them... The sidequests in this game give you extra story instead, extra character development, parallel stories going on, etc.

Think of Fragile as a real-time visual novel. XD  That's the best description I could think of.

I read about how you can find short stories within the grafitti and such, like memories left behind.

I think someone described it as playing a book. o-O

I'd be more excited, but I live in Europe and have an unmodded Wii. Fragile may be the game that pushes me to softmod my Wii for import games, but a North American release is next to useless to me as thing stand (thank you very much Nintendo).

Checked into a few games published by XSeed.  I guess if it were Marvelous, it would be brought over by Rising Star Games in EU, but this isn't.  Hmm.

I've been playing imports non-stop via gecko, I can't advise you more to do the aforementioned mod. You'll have this and arc rise fantasia in US this year, after all.

XSEED and Rising Star have a great relationship going on, you know? including sharing localization between them... Take the new horror game based on the grudge as a example, it's japanese publisher is AQ Software, to whom XSEED is a subsidiary, and in europe it is Rising Star who is bringing it. Wink

Chances of a European release just skyrocketed. Plus Atari/Namco could pick it up still.
