The newest Fire Emblem game was announced a few days ago, it will be a remake of Book 2 from Fire Emblem 3. The biggest change is that this game will feature a create a character as another main character along side Marth.

I'm really looking forward to this. Book 2 is one of the better games in the franchise and a remake the expands the story and allows me to include myself in it sounds pretty awesome.

should have just remade FE3 from the beginning and included both Book 1 and 2, but whatever. Still buying this.

Except Book 1 is not Shadow Dragon, Book 1 is a spark notes summary of FE1 with less characters and chapters. Plus with all the extra content their throwing into this remake I doubt both games would have fit on one DS cart.

The my unit is a bit novel for a FE game... actually having your 'avatar' participate in a fight? I'd presume the standard rules would apply, Lords and your unit cannot die and everyone else is fair game. I'm also wondering if they're going to use any of the modern game play systems since Shadow Dragon was quite dry in that respect.

Well apparently my unit can have conversation with any of the party members before a battle and can become "intimate" with them which I guess will be the new version of supports.

I just hope that doesn't kick any personality of the characters out of the game...the problem with your own generated character is the dialogue might get pretty generic.
Hopefully I'm wrong though!

Totally gonna get it, but I still wish there would be some sort of significant change in the gameplay. I realize it's hard to innovate within the realm of strategy RPGs, but still...
And yeah, I hate to be pessimistic, but I feel like the character creation bit will detract from character interaction. Either that or just not play a large role at all.
