I really didn't think the story was that bad...  Definitely could have used more char. development *cough* Vaan & Penelo *cough*  But overall an good game (I spent more time battling then most games, just to test gambits :p)

I didn't like the demo with Dragon Quest VIII.

I haven't gotten to the final game yet, but I'm being cautiously optimistic about it, since it seems a lot different than the other FF games...

Also, I really don't like the trolling nature of this topic... warn.

That was how I was thinking when I tried the demo for Final Fantasy XII.  The demo didn't really impress me.

However, I did rented Final Fantasy XII and, surprisingly, I actually enjoyed it.  The game was solid, though I have to admit that the game is pretty dense, so it'd take some time to really get into it.

Well, it's a great game but I do have to say that if you're nervous about the game itself, like I was (though I also had that "Final Fantasy let me down really hard" thing to go with that), give it a rent first and test the water that way.

Sorry about the topic post, it wasn't meant to make anyone angry lol, but this was, I think, the worst FF game... like chronomaster5042  said alittle bit above me, NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT whatsoever... and usually in FF games u know where the last boss is however, I beat the game at lv. 45 without even knowing I was fighting the last boss lol... thats what made me mad about the game (and the muffled voices and also the old english dialogue lol)... I didn't even get to get the final weapons like I usually do...

I particularly despise the character art. "Art" being a loose term since they're all boring, soulless computer renders.. but the main character continues the modern Final Fantasy trend of male leads looking like boy band rejects, except this guy gets the dubious award of also looking like a girl band reject. And the female lead is just a generic anime girl with her finger picking her nose.

i disagree with the soulless part, as the models have some rather nice human models behind them to give them fairly life-like movements. if no one else, balthier and basch (and fran, depending on your tastes) are awesome. and the script and voice work are quite impressive.

negatives include not one, but TWO awesome-looking people who you might think would be the main character turning out not to be the main character (as they both get killed in the intro movie/prologue), and when you DO meet the main character, he looks like a total douche. whatever beef you may or may not have with cloud, squall (especially squall), and/or tidus, vaan takes the cake as being the lamest FF male lead in the entire series, both in looks and sheer loser-ness.

still, it seems like they've put out a solid FF title.

Looked like the last boss to me when I fought Vayne.  He had multiple forms, which is a staple for FF final bosses.
