Another re-release of this game? I know they're throwing in "After Years" and some new content, but hasn't Square milked FFIV enough?

No kidding.  It'd be nice if they showed some love to 5 or 6 as well.  I was a little disappointed over their GBA ports.

I'll probably buy this anyway, assuming it comes stateside (which I can't imagine why it wouldn't) xD

5 IS getting remade on the DS. There was a magazine scan floating around some time ago. As for this remake of 4, of COURSE I'm buying it. It's my favorite FF, and it was what made me realize that I was going to be an RPG nerd the rest of my life.

What this needs a mode that enables the augment system and the other gameplay tweaks of the DS remake.

I'd like to see this, because every single thing I have been hearing from Square-Enix interviews has been "We are not planning on remaking Final Fantasy 5 or 6 for the Nintendo DS."

Not only that I hoping the GBA stuffs get added into it as well
-Lunar Ruins
-The Cave of Trials
-Yang, Palom, Porom, Edward, and Cid like the gba version needs to be playable
-Rydia need more summon and a Beastmaster Skill to obtain more monster rather then just Goblin, Cockatrice, Bomb, and Mindflayer
-also Band System from the after year into FF4

Didn't they make a Wonderswan Color version? I recall hearing that the GBA versions of 1+2 were graphically-based on that. I think Square put a lot of their older games on the WSC.

IIRC, that was part of the reason the original Japanese and the North American GBA port of the game had the glitches it had, since they used the WSC version as a base.

IV DS was pretty much perfect. Its going to be hard to top that. At any rate, I only look forward to this if only because I can finally play After Years.

There were plans to do 5 and 6 on the DS. A more recent followup interview revealed the development plan had been changed because of the impending release of the 3DS. So with any luck, maybe we'll see them remade there instead.

Final Fantasy 5 and 6 on the 3DS would be AMAZING!

Personally I'll buy this game just to avoid having to buy the rest of TAY episodes
