Before we go on  to the next-generation of consoles, what is the #1 rpg you've played on playstation 2, gamecube, and/or xbox???

My favorite for Ps2 is (drums please) Dragon Quest VIII!!! Beautiful game and one of the greatest on Ps2.

Favorite for Gamecube is of course Tales of symphonia for obvious reasons lol  Grin

Favorite for xbox, well, actually I only play madden and Halo on Xbox so I don't have one however, I heard Fable is pretty good.

Can't wait for the Next-gen games to be released

Despite how much I end up fondly remembering RPGs that I've completed, I've only ever completed one for the sixth generation consoles.

Final Fantasy X.

In fact, the save that I eventually completed the game with has 87 hours of game time recorded on it. I was also planning to go through it again (I did the same with Tales of Phantasia SFC) but it stuck repeatedly at a cutscene, leading me to believe the disc is damaged.

I've also attempted Shadow Hearts and Kingdom Hearts, getting reasonable progress with both, but I've never completed either.

Playstation 2: I'd have to say Kingdom Hearts. It was one of two games that brought me back into gaming after I declared it dead during the PS1 era and helped fuel my action-RPG obsession. I was also really happy to see a good Disney based game which hadn't really happened since Capcom's NES/SNES stuff.

GameCube: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This is one of those games that really breaks no new ground but does everything it does PERFECTLY. The pacing on this game was incredible and each chapter was so deliciously different that it managed to stay so fresh for its fifty hour length. The dialogue was also very well-written and filled with humor.. both a huge difference from your typical dry and boring JRPG.

My choices are pretty much the same Leroy's. Though I liked Kingdom Hearts 2 better then the first one. Though both are excellent games, IMO.

PS2: Kingdom Hearts 2. It improved upon the original in just about every way, besides the lack of Dodge Roll Tongue. That and I'm a complete sucker for action RPGs, so Grin

Gamecube: Tales of Symphonia. I liked Paper Mario 2 as well, but it didn't have the same charm of the first one to me.

Xbox: Fable. I didn't love it, but it was fun while it lasted. Besides, there weren't many other Xbox RPGs.

PS2- Tales of the Abyss: The battle system is quite possibly the best I've ever seen in an RPG. That, and the huge ammount of hi-ougis. ToD2J comes in a close second.

GameCube- Tales of Symphonia: It got me interested in this series. That honor alones makes it deserve the top spot.

PS2: Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (what else?)

GC: Tales of Symphonia (Baten Kaitos gets a bit too hectic for me later in the game and PM TTYD had its moments but ultimately never really clicked for me)

PS2: Suikoden V -- Amazing story, fantastic characters and tons of replay value. Great music, fun battles. IT was the revival of the Suikoden series. I love it.

Runners-up: Dragon Quest VIII, Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Rebirth.

GC: Paper Mario: TTYD -- Humour filled, fantastic characters and battles. Great visual style.

Runner-up: Tales of Symphonia

Xbox: KoToR -- Great story, cool scenarios, deep dialogues and amazing atmosphere.

Runners-up: KoToR2, Deus Ex: Invisiable War
