Favorite and least favorite Nintendo character

My favorite Nintendo character is Ira (a.k.a. Ayra) from the Japan-only SNES game Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu.  She is pictured in my avatar.

My least favorite Nintendo character is Lip from Panel de Pon, the original version of Tetris Attack.

Greatest Nintendo character of all time (at least in my opinion) is Link. Sure, call me cliché, but seriously, Link owns.

Least favorite? ...probably Birdo... that pink, egg-spewing piece of crap. XD...

Lip is an annoying and ultrafeminine magical girl (referring herself as "flower fairy", which sounds ultrafeminine), and is said to bring bad luck.  She is overrated.  She is the worst Nintendo character of all time.  I hate her far more than Yoshi, my second least favorite Nintendo character. 

Before the time of Super Smash Bros. Melee, Luigi was my favorite Nintendo character.  Marth over took him as my favorite Nintendo character shortly after I started playing as him.  One year, he lost that position to Ayra.

Julzar, Ayra is very much greater than Lip and any big-name Nintendo character, even Mario, Link, Samus, and Pikachu combined.  She is the best looking Nintendo character.  I think she is really the greatest Nintendo character of all time.  She is underrated.  She is a better swordfighter than Link, Marth, and Roy combined.  No big-name Nintendo character can beat her, even the Hero of Time. 

What Lip and Ayra have in common is that they are both Intelligent Systems characters.  They were both created by the late Gunpei Yokoi.  They both had their origin in an SNES game.

I may not want to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl if Lip makes it in and Ayra does not.  Unfortunately, Lip has a higher chance than Ayra to be playable in Super Smash Bros.  If Lip makes it in, she would take away from the game.  If Ayra makes it in, she would completely dominate the Super Smash Bros. arena and eclipse Mario, Link, Samus, Marth, and Roy.

I don't mind Lip really although there's better characters in Panel de Pon. The Ultragirly thing is offputting buts its not enough to kill the game you know.

...No offense, but that's all just your opinion. My opinion? Link could beat the ass of any Nintendo character. But you're acting like what you about Lip and Ayra is FACT, which it isn't. You sound like a televangelist.. the fact that you're even considering not buying SSBB because of a character making it or not making it in is sad, especially after your little rant about not buying the PS3 because of its price (http://forum.tales-cless....rg/index.php?topic=169.15). Here is what I might say to Masahiro Sakurai if I decide to boycott Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

Dear Sakurai San,

I have decided to boycott, thus refusing to play, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, known in Japan as Dai-Rantou Smash Brothers X, because of a certain character Lip, from the Super Famicom game Panel de Pon, being playable in the game, and Ayra, from the Super Famicom game Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu, not being playable in the game.  Lip, whom I massively hate, is a character that the majority of the American audience would rather not use.  She is my least favorite Nintendo character ever, with a wide margin from Yoshi.  She is just a waste of space.  That Lip's Stick item, which appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee, was unnecessary.  I think you all put that item in Super Smash Bros. Melee just to elevate Lip's chances of being playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  I am disappointed that it has been believed that Ayra has had a slim chance of being playable in a Super Smash Bros. game.  Many in the U.S. swore by the Lord class when it comes to Fire Emblem characters.  Sigurd might have been in Super Smash Bros. Brawl already, which is good.  Also, Marth has been dumbed down from Super Smash Bros. Melee to the point of near uselessness.  Lip will probably last for only one Super Smash Bros. game.  I would settle for the Sony PlayStation 3 instead of the Nintendo Wii.  I would settle for Final Fantasy XIII instead.  Thank you.

Alright, but I still see the argument as pretty irrelevant. Boycotting a game because a certain character doesn't appear in it is just kind of..well..dumb. You argued to someone in another thread to buy a PS3 because it's a great piece of hardware with great games, despite its outrageously high price. Well here's your argument right back at you: "You must not judge a game by the characters in it." ^_^; So they put in one character ahead of another. Despite the fact that Wario had been around long before the original SSB, SSBB is his first appearence, and despite the fact that he's a popular character, we've gotten many different iterations of Mario (including Luigi, maybe? come on, they're not that different XD), Ice Climbers, Mr. Game and Watch... I wonder how many people didn't play SSBM because Ice Climbers appeared in it and Wario didn't.

Listen, it's your opinion whether you want to boycott the game or not. You'll be missing out on one the best upcoming games for the next gen. But hey, it's your loss, not mine. =P

By the way, where's your evidence that Lip "is a character that the majority of the American audience with rather not use"? ...That seems to be complete heresay. Seeing as most of the American audience doesn't even know about Lip, i doubt they have a strong opinion whether they'd enjoy playing as her or not. =P

Seriously though Sakurai is taking serious thinking into who is going in and who isn't you know. He's only considering Lip because the fans want Lip. If you are going to go all killjoy in hating the game just becuase Lip is going to appear you are betraying your fellow fans in a way. However just abadoning a game yet even moreso a console just because a character you liked didn't make it in doesn't mean you should starting ignoring the Wii and make a false impression it sucks and stick with something else. That is just bloody childish.

I thought one of the great bits about SSB is that it doesn't matter if you like the characters in it or not. If you really like a character, you get to play as them, which is always good. If you really don't like a character, you don't play as them, and you get to beat them up repeatedly!

As for favourite and least favourite characters, I abstain on both counts. I don't really have enough of an opinion on either.

I hate Lip a million times as much as I hate Yoshi.  I praise Ayra as much as I hate Lip.  That hatred toward Lip is so massive that I am considering to reject SSBB.  Therefore, I will reject SSBB if Lip but not Ayra makes it in.  I am extremely disappointed that Masahiro Sakurai is considering Lip, but not Ayra.  To make matters worse, he is also considering a fellow Fire Emblem Swordmaster (Ayra is a Swordmaster) by the name of Wayu, who is known as Mia in the United States.  One thing good about his decision is that he is considering Sigurd from the same game as Ayra, and also Oguma from Marth's games.  Neither Sigurd nor Oguma will do me justice when it comes to Lip being in SSBB. 

My one condition: If Lip makes it in, but Ayra does not, then I will abandon Super Smash Bros. Brawl and maybe the Wii console altogether, and even give the game a bad review.  I would give an impression that the Wii is garbage.  I would settle for Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3.  I hope the PS3 wins the console war, and not the Wii.  I do not want Square Enix to support the Wii.

Anyway Golden Sun isn't really a Nintendo game since CAMELOT made it, NOT Nintendo. Pikachu and all that got in because Game Freak was a fraction of Nintendo or something like that. Kirby got it because well... HAL are the guys responsible for the games.

Wow!  You're as whiny as those Nintendo fans over how Solid Snake is appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Seriously, making a big deal over who's in and who's out in Super Smash Bros. Brawl by deciding to boycott it and even thinking of giving it a bad score (with no critical and objective attribute to it)?  Really, it comes down to, "You need to chill, dude!"

As for the topic on hand, I really can't say, since I'm so indecisive about it.  Besides, I just feel I need to say something about this (even if it goes through one ear and out the other).
