Yuzo Koshiro still on for music. Mmm...can't wait for the soundtrack.

Both EO1 and EO2 had bloody amazing soundtracks. Right up there with Ace Attorney for favorite soundtracks on the DS.

To celebrate: a frickin' awesome EO1 and 2 (mostly 2) doujin arrange album that I found hiding amongst a collection of doujin albums: http://www.tales-cless.org/EO1%2b2arrange.7z

A completely new set of classes (heh, Princess...influenced from 7th Dragon much?), and has something of a sea theme? Wonder how that's gonna affect the soundtrack. There's a local multi-player element as well...

Basic summary of the revealed classes found from some source.

Monk -
Skilled in unarmed combat and use ki to heal allies

Phalanx -
Skilled with spears and defense

Shinobi -
Skilled in hiding and aiding the party with exploration skills

Pirates -
Skilled with swords and guns. Loves to attack with friends

Princess/Prince -
Raises morale with their noble blood

Other classes include Farmer, Sniper, Oni, Berserker and Astronomer

(heh, Princess...influenced from 7th Dragon much?)

Actually the Princess class first appeared in the Ogre Battle games! Though its likely the inspiration for the class was from 7th Dragon.

There's a local multi-player element as well...

Interesting.

I assume its been added in response to Dragon Quest IX and Hikari no 4 Senshi.

Website's been updated with some video. Mm...some wind effects in dungeon exploration? Looks real nice. Wonder if they're going to animate the enemies this time like in SMT: Strange Journey.  Doesn't matter that much to me, though.

No matter how simple or how many 3D objects and textures are used repeatedly in the dungeons in these games, I adore the aesthetic of the forest settings in each stratum. The music makes it even better.

Man, EO is such a cool little series. Easily my favorite new RPG series of the generation.

When I finally play this game, I think I'm going to make one of the weirdest, most unconventional parties ever. And then hope it somehow works out. Pirate, Ninja, Princess, Farmer, and...?

I plan on using Shinobi, Ballista, Phlanx, Monk, Princess. Obviously a more conventional party >_>

Beast Master seems like a fun class to use. I've always been a fan of characters who summon allies to make good meat shields assist you in battle.
