Yeah, I always hated how Sony took those ideas from Nintendo...
I used to joke with my friend about it...
*before Playstation*
Sony: ... hmm... Playstation was supposed to be for SNES... let's take their controller design and put shapes and a big Sony Playstation logo on it!
*N64 comes out*
Sony: ... hmm... they have an analog stick which provides unprecedented 3D control for games... let's add two!
*Rumble pak comes out*
Sony: ... hmm... they have a device to give players physical feedback when playing games, giving a better sense of being in the game... let's copyright infringe!
*Wiimote is revealed*
Sony: ... hmm... they have motion sensors in their weird controller... let's take our same old controller and do the same thing!

I'm pretty sure Sony are just adding a Gyroscope to the controller not some motion detector. But I could be wrong.
But then again its true, Sony always seems to steal Nintendo's ideas.

Well, Sony's controller function doesn't even come close to what the Wiimote can do. It feels like a totally half-baked attempt. But I still wager that Sony added it in response to Wii.

FF13? That's not three versions, it's three seperate games.
That's what I was referring to,actually. It is going to be three games, but it seems they will keep those games in the same universe/world.Is what I was trying to say, sorry about that.

Okay, just as a little note to all the comments about unoriginality floating around pretty much everywhere, I'd just like to say how incredibly relieved I am that they changed the controller design back to that of the old dual shock. I seriously love that controller as it works with everything. One of my biggest gripes with all other consoles are that I hate their controllers, so this worked out well for me. My future Guilty Gear playing is safe.
Gyrsoscope thingie seems like dumb idea to me, but I really couldn't care less about it as I find it hard to see myself all that interested in any game requiring it. I might eat those words, but that's in the future, so it all works out in the end.
I love the design of both of the FFXIII games by the way. Too bad I have nothing else to say about them yet, but I do know that. But it's obvious to me that they really shouldn't be named Final Fantasy. Still, I guess it takes a lot of courage to try and start up a new series when they know the old one will work.

It's without the shock/rumble though (so it's no longer called dual shock) so even if people can live without it in PS3 games plenty PS1 and PS2 games will not feel the same for others. I wonder if Sony at least leaves the door open for rumbling data to be sent to controllers and lets 3rd party implement this in theirs, but I kind of doubt that considering Sony's court case.

I see an outburst of platformers coming from Nintendo with Yoshi's Island II, New Super Mario Bros. for DS, Super Paper Mario for Gamecube, and Super Mario Galaxy for Wii. I think it's just wonderful that Nintendo is finally creating full platformers again. The next generation is going to be quite the interesting one. If Sony were to actually go down, who would take its spot?
With games like Red Steel though, I'm most excited about Nintendo's offerings and I'm really liking this controller of their's.

I don't know. I used to play Gamecube games with a wired controller with the rumble on but then I decided in late 2004 that I wanted to go wireless so I got a Wavebird and, as most people know, the Wavebird does not have any rumble feature. I played older Gamecube games with the Wavebird and I pretty much forgot about rumble features. Pretty much, we'll probably end up forgetting about the rumble feature. Heck, I'll probably forget about it when I go and use the PS3's backward capability.
Pretty much, I don't expect much of a big deal over a lack of rumble, even when playing PS1 or PS2 games.

Holy *bleep*,
Hideo Kojima confirmed that a live action Metal Gear movie is in the making
! It's interesting how the news was delivered, so you'll have to see for yourself.
I am certainly relived that Uwe Boll isn't directing the movie *phew*. Also makes me wonder...who's going to be Solid Snake?
I'm just hoping the movie doesn't suck like other video game-based movie have.

If this Gamespot news say anything, then you didn't misread anything
. It said that Solid Snake is suppose to be in the next Smash Bros. Looks like Dream Mix TV (A Smash Bros. clone on the PS2 and Gamecube) wasn't enough for Snake.
*suddenly pictures Snake sneaking up on Link and beat the crud out of him*
I saw the trailer and I'll say it right now, it's weird but I'm actually welcoming it, though I probably can't say for the other Nintendo fans about their feelings about Solid Snake fighting Nintendo characters (or maybe I'm just saying this because I'm a big Metal Gear fan).

And I was about to run here and announce it, too...
Anyway, you can stream the trailer of the new Smash here:

Or download it at various game sites, gamespot, ign, etc

Maybe because Nintendo stole the show for us at E3?
Seriously, it's Nintendo that's really getting us going crazy.
Also, guess who composed the music in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl trailer?
I'll give you a hint...Final Fantasy
.
That's right. Nobuo Uematsu composed the music heard in the trailer.

Wii for the WIN.
Sony was absolutely pathetic. I will not be getting a PS3 until they're $200. Or even $300 if there's a LOT of compelling software. Not even Tales, tri-Ace or Nippon Ichi games will make me budge for over $300.
