Fifth language? That's incredible!

You really need a class for Japanese, books and sites are only going to get you so far you really need an outlet to practice with a teacher and other people. Try searching for Japanese or Asian communities in your area, they usually have language classes or you can try at a community college, you can typically take just one class for something like that.

They should replace french for japanese in school, who the hell needs french?
I had it 4-5 years and it sucks (sorry if i have offended people from France here).

Well i think I'll begin at summer break learning a little bit japanese, i hope that i will find a class somewhere around my area.

You need Latin if you want to do something with medicine later.

Hey, if you don't like french, it doesn't mean is useless...
Japanese might be useful for you, but for most people it isn't (It would be cool to learn it, though)

(that reminds me, I should go back into learning Greek)

Not only is my school district complete and total crap, they don't teach Japanese. Not exactly that that's uncommon, it's just that having a sucky school district as well as a small selection of languages (Spanish, German, French).

For a first step if you plan to study independantly, I'd reccomend learning the kana (the best first step you can take for Japanese, IMO).

There's hiragana here: http://www.zompist.com/flash.html

...and katakana here: http://www.gecko-ak.org/c...i-bin/nihongo/katakana.pl

...and once you've mastered both, there's a mix here: http://www-apparitions.ucsd.edu/~shope/kana/

Wow, language showdown... xD

1. Latin is not dead. I am aiming for a major in Pharmacy and a double minor in Latin and Math. Although I'm not sure if you can even minor in anything with the Pharmacy program here... unless you take 8 courses a term or something.

2.
Hey, if you don't like french, it doesn't mean is useless...

Agreed. That applies for every other language, too
