People finally get the high-res sprites they've been dying for...perhaps. Environmental 3D is still far from impressive, but, well, Nippon Ichi only has so much money.

Now just ditch all the systems I hated from Disgaea 3 and we might just have the definitive Disgaea game.

Supposedly it comes out in America Summer 2011...

Man I really need to pick up one of these games. Is the writing and script really as good as I hear it is?

Only the first one is really worth playing for that. NIS has never been able to top the original trio. Disgaea 2's cast is boring (I kept hoping Adell's good guy thing was a massive troll that would deliver an epic joke in the middle of the game, but that never happened, so he was just reduced to the lamest of the lame in the end). D3's cast is somewhere in-between.

Although, maybe Atlus being the localizer is at least partially responsible for the first one being so good in this regard.

Or maybe it's just that Disgaea was the first one, so everyone holds it in the highest regard. Or something. As far as Adell goes, I wish that they did something about him finding THE TRUTH about his lineage, but he's either so dense he never figured it out or just thinks it doesn't matter. Well, at least Axel trolled everyone and then ran off, just like a Dark Hero should.

I'm going to get Disgaea 4 because I know I'm going to like it. Graphical quality doesn't bother me, because it at least looks better than Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom did (why couldn't they make the whole game look like those big side-view sprites?).

Looks fine to me. Now let's see how the public react to this.

Ah, yes. Disgaea. Yet another semester of null productivity coming up, eh?
