What is the first RPG you ever played or the first you remember playing? (There might be a difference!)

I always thought FF7 was the first rpg I ever played, but it was actually Paper Mario for N64.

What are your top 5 all time favorite RPGs? Top 10 if you're feeling sporty. (Feel free to list a few honorable mentions.)

1) Tales of Symphonia
2) FF IX
3) FF VII
4) Star Ocean 3
5) Valkyrie Profile 2
6) Suikoden V
7) Paper Mario
8 ) Paper Mario TTYD
9) Tales of the Abyss
10) Legend of the Dragoon

Honorable Mentions:

- Legend of Mana; my first taste of real-time style RPGs
- Tales of Rebirth; finally got my hands on it, and is an amazing game. It would be on the list if it was in english, though Sad
- Tales of Destiny DC; same as above Cry
- Legend of Legaia; omfg hard game, but lots of nostalgia.
- Grandia 3; what a beautiful game, despite the cheesy storyline and zero replay value.
Probably more, but I simply cant recall them all at the moment

What is your favorite RPG series? (This is probably a given for most of us.)

Yes, Tales of course. Smiley

Think of every console you've played an RPG/s on, now list what your favorite RPG is on each console. (Includes PC and handhelds.)

N64: Paper Mario
PS1: All the FFs, Legend of the Dragoon, Legend of Mana
Ps2: TOTA, Suikoden V, VP2, SO3, plus more
GC: TOS
GBA: Golden Sun, Fire Emblem

If you could have any one RPG setting/game/storyline made into a movie, what would it be? (If you want to list two, go ahead.) Assume that the movie was directed by an awesome director, had a good script, good acting talent and a good budget. Also assume the movie was three hours long.

Hm. Off the top of my head, I think Suikoden V would make an excellent movie. I loved the storyline, and hell, the game seemed to be acting as a movie anyway.

What's the most time you've ever clocked in on an RPG once you were finally finished with it?

Ohh boy, I tend to leave my games on for long periods of time. The only game that I spent most of the time in was Pokemon Emerald, with 400+ hours.

What was the biggest disappointment you've ever faced when it came to an RPG? Could be the game sucked, the end of the game was a let down, or it had some something in it that bummed you out for the worse.

Ive had the great fortune of playing few RPGs that sucked, but the only one that comes exclusively to the mind atm is Xenosaga, for the slow battle system, and incredibly long CG events.

What is the hardest RPG you ever played? Could be because of a certain boss, the difficulty of the dungeons, or maybe you just weren't good at video games at the time.

Legend of Legaia EASILY the hardest RPG ive ever played. Even at the very beginning, if you were even slightly noobish like I was, it was impossible. And I was happy to see the second one was just as difficult.(sarcasm)

What novel, series of novels or short stories would you like to see turned into an RPG? Assume that it would be a good video game that didn't flop.

Urgh, I dont read a lot, so I cant answer this one.  Undecided

What's the most anticipated you've ever been for a certain RPG? If you can't remember one RPG you got more anticipated over more than the others, then just try your hardest.

Tales of the Abyss. I remember drooling over it when JP battle videos got loose of it on Youtube.

Do you consider the The Legend of Zelda series an RPG series? Why or why not?

Naw, I always consider them Action/Adventure, with RPG elements here and there.

This might be a harder one, and a bit off topic. Think of a video game that wasn't an RPG, but had blatant RPG elements. Like a leveling up system, an item upgrade system that progressed as you progressed with the story, ect. Now what is your favorite video game that wasn't an RPG, but had obvious RPG elements. (If you don't consider the Zelda series an RPG series, this would be a great place to put one of them.)

Yeah definitely the Zelda series, and my favorite would be WindWaker(was the only Zelda game I played like I was hooked~!)

What is the first RPG you ever played or the first you remember playing? (There might be a difference!)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I think it was paper mario 64 as I mostly played plat formers when I was young and the first console I owned was the n64. So yes my first rpg was paper mario 64 (AND I STILL LOVE IT!!!)

What are your top 5 all time favorite RPGs? Top 10 if you're feeling sporty. (Feel free to list a few honorable mentions.)

1. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
2. Paper Mario 64 (these first two choices can be interchangeable depending on my mood)
3. Tales of Symphonia
4. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (even with the slowdowns the much improved localization wins me over)
5. Odins Sphere (I personally count it as an rpg)

this was actually a lot harder then I thought it would be. I guess there weren't many rpgs that I actually truly enjoyed like these ones.
I'm not really a fan of turn based rpg battle systems. I really like mario rpg turn based battle systems though it's much more engaging.

What is your favorite RPG series? (This is probably a given for most of us.)

Paper Mario or any other Mario rpg series.

Think of every console you've played an RPG/s on, now list what your favorite RPG is on each console. (Includes PC and handhelds.)

n64-Paper Mario 64
Game Cube-Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
ps1-Tales of Eternia (with the voices off)
ps2-Odins Sphere
wii-...OMG! I don't have any rpgs for this 0_o!!!
Xbox 360-Currently Tales of Vesperia (to tell you the truth thats not saying much from me)
snes-Chrono Trigger
GBA-Summon Knight Sword Craft Story 2

If you could have any one RPG setting/game/storyline made into a movie, what would it be? (If you want to list two, go ahead.) Assume that the movie was directed by an awesome director, had a good script, good acting talent and a good budget. Also assume the movie was three hours long.

HMMMMM.... NONE! Making video games into movies need to stop and vise versa. To tell the truth I don't like Holly Wood I'd have more faith in a japanese animation studio to do a better job at a film adaptation of an rpg.

What's the most time you've ever clocked in on an RPG once you were finally finished with it?

I have no idea but in a single play through it would have to be Tales of Symphonia I don't know how many hours though.

What was the biggest disappointment you've ever faced when it came to an RPG? Could be the game sucked, the end of the game was a let down, or it had some something in it that bummed you out for the worse.

THE LAST REMNANT! I was expecting a rpg with a fresh unique battle system and what I got was a lag fest with a poor story.

What is the hardest RPG you ever played? Could be because of a certain boss, the difficulty of the dungeons, or maybe you just weren't good at video games at the time.

I can't think of any.

What novel, series of novels or short stories would you like to see turned into an RPG? Assume that it would be a good video game that didn't flop.

I would probably cry myself to sleep at night if any of the books I read were made into rpgs or any type of game.

What's the most anticipated you've ever been for a certain RPG? If you can't remember one RPG you got more anticipated over more than the others, then just try your hardest.

It would probably have to be for kizuna aka golden bonds but there's no new news on that so my hype died down.

Do you consider the The Legend of Zelda series an RPG series? Why or why not?

not really I just think it's an action adventure game with rpg elements

This might be a harder one, and a bit off topic. Think of a video game that wasn't an RPG, but had blatant RPG elements. Like a leveling up system, an item upgrade system that progressed as you progressed with the story, ect. Now what is your favorite video game that wasn't an RPG, but had obvious RPG elements. Megaman Legends and/or The of Zelda The Wind Waker and/or Majora's Mask
