^ *looks under the avatar* How can you be a Sakuraba fan while acknowledging how repetitive and uninspired he really is for the most of the time?

He's neither repetitive nor uninspired. Most people just get a fatigue of his music by listening to like 5% of his output from a limited amount of time and game genres, and fail to listen to the more varied rest of his work. As for why the similarities matter to me: it helps figuring out which tracks are definitely by Sakuraba and not by Tamura.
Kajitani-Eizan: They have different speed, accompaniments and instrumentations to achieve a different mood, so I find them less similar than the example I gave. And I honestly stopped caring for most others' opinion about Sakuraba like a decade ago, those usually are too repetitive and uninspired to me.
Goshi: GS2 reused the GS1 music for the old locations, while adding new music (the amount ratio is 47 old to 49 new tracks). The ship theme first appeared in GS1.
